Welcome students and parents! This is my second year working at the Linda Nolen Learning Center and I LOVE it here! Our school is truly unique and a wonderful resource for the students of Shelby County.
Since beginning my teaching career in 2001, I’ve worked with many different students in many different types of settings. I began my career in collaborative special education working with elementary age students. From there, I went on to work with middle school and high school students as a Teacher Librarian. Most recently, I went back into the classroom and worked with secondary students with special needs while focusing on independent living skills. Now, I’m back in the library at Linda Nolen!
At the present, I have a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Mild Learning/Behavior Disorders. War Eagle! Then, while living in Atlanta, I went back to school and earned my master’s degree in school library media from the University of West Georgia.
My husband (also a teacher) and I have two little girls who are 10 and 6 who keep us very busy! In addition, we also have an attack cat named Rosie who prowls the neighborhood hunting down unsuspecting birds and lizards. In my free time, I enjoy reading, golfing, and traveling through our beautiful country.
