STEAM Lab Visit September 7, 2017

This week, in Social Studies, we have studied communities. What we learned was carried over to our visit to the STEAM lab. Each group built an item that might be in a community. They then had to identify if it would be found in an urban community, suburban community, or a rural community. The class improved their teamwork skills while completing the projects. We had great results!

Photo #1: This group built a water park which would mostly be found in an urban area. It includes  a pool and a hotel.

Photo #2: This group built a chocolate factory which could be found in a rural or urban area. It includes a round area to mix the chocolate and tubes to carry the chocolate through the factory.

Photo #3: This group made a hotel with three diving boards at the pool. This would be found in rural, suburban, or urban communities.

Photo #4: This group made a school. The school has a class with children and a teacher. Flowers are on top of the school. The playground has spinning monkey bars.
