Attention Students: There will be an ACT Workshop this Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Shelby County Instructional Services Center. It will be from 9am-3pm and the cost is $75. All juniors received this information in the mail. Visit www.sycamorelearning.com for more info.
Juniors and Seniors: A representative from the Univ. of Alabama will be in the library Mon., Oct. 6 during 7th period. Interested students should sign up in the Guidance Office.
Seniors: The October edition of the Senior Newsletter is now available and it contains info on important dates, upcom-ing college visits, and scholarships. Check out Ms. Allen’s blog or pick up a copy in the library or Guidance Office.
Seniors: Are you a student with a minimum C+ average who has beaten the odds and made a significant contribution to your family or community? Would you like $60,000 to help toward your education at an Alabama college? If so, you are encouraged to apply for a Smith Foundation Scholarship. Find out more about this scholarship and others in the Oct. Senior Newsletter. Also, be sure to check out the “Scholarship Wall” in the Guidance Office for other scholar-ship applications.

The PSAT helps students assess their academic skills and provides valuable feedback that helps with your college planning. MHS. HOBY participants attend a weekend leadership seminar where they
learn how to use their leadership skills to make a difference in their communities.

so, know that you are not alone. Ms. Allen is now offering students the opportunity
to sign up for small groups. Visit the guidance office this week if
