MHS News 8/23/2018

Congratulations to Miriam Hernandez for being recognized at the Shelby County Character in Action ceremony. Miriam was honored for showing high levels of character in the areas of respect, self-discipline, responsibility, citizenship, friendship, fair- ness, perseverance, and courage. We are proud of her for representing MHS in a positive way!

Softball evaluations will be Sept. 24, 25, & 26 @ 6 pm. You must have a physical and insurance form turned in to Coach Poe by Sept 14th to participate.

Are you thinking about wanting to be a teacher or a coach? Do you want to develop your leadership skills? See Mrs. Cabrera, Room 300 in the Alice Boyd Building for an application. Future Teacher application are due TOMORROW by 3 to Mrs. Cabrera

Attention Seniors: Senior Parent Night will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6 PM in the PAC. Important information will be shared. Don’t miss out!

Attention Students: If you started a UM College Ahead course this fall, please see Ms. Allen.

Juniors: Are you interested in building your leadership potential by interacting with other students and community leaders? If so, you may be an ideal candidate for Youth Leadership Shelby County. See Ms. Allen for more information on how to apply.

Cross Country Athletes: Plan to attend a mandatory meeting after school today from 3 – 4. Practice starts this week.

Football program personal dedication pages are due TODAY to Coach McCaleb.

Friday Pep rally Theme: spirit day, wear your orange and blue as we get ready to play the Marbury bulldogs. Let’s show them who the better bulldogs are!

Any FRESHMEN interested in running for 9th Grade SGA Representative must come to a meeting in Ms. Pastor’s room in Alice Boyd during GPS TODAY. Check in with your teacher before leaving from lunch before you come to the meeting.

Please be sure your parking hang tag is visible and you are parked in your designated spot. If not, you may be subjected to having your vehicle towed and loss of parking on campus. You are not allowed to park on campus without the proper hang tag.

Bulldog Day TOMORROW NIGHT, August 11th at 6:00 PM. Admission will be $2.

Students once again you are reminded that you do not enter the front doors between class changes…only enter first bell of the morning . You must enter the side door near Coach Grayson’s room!

Attention Students: The deadline to submit Schedule Change Forms has been moved to Tues., Aug. 14.

As of Monday all students parking on campus must have a hang tag displayed and parking in your designated spot. If you have not turned in your forms and received your hang tag, please come by the office TODAY! Anyone park- ing on campus without the proper tag will be subjected to having your vehicle towed.

Girls soccer tryouts will be August 24th and 25th. Students must have a consent form and physical turned into Coach Cooley by August 22nd. See the flyers for more information.

Any student running cross-country this season should stop by Coach Wilke’s room between bells today or Mon- day to pick up a Cross-Country packet. Athletes and parents will be expected to attend a meeting next Tues- day at 6:00 p.m. in the PAC.

School pictures and senior portrait make-ups will be taken Monday, August 20.

Volleyball team is selling class jersey shirt (mesh football material) for $30 see any volleyball player or Coach Baswell if you would like to purchase one they are $30. Money is due Friday, Aug. 17.
