MHS News 8/30/2019

Congratulations to the Bulldogs on their victory over Shelby County last night! Way to Wipe out the Wildcats!!! Great Job to our Band & Cheerleaders, too!

Future Teacher Applications are due TODAY to Mrs. Cabrera- AB Building Room 305 MHS is going to Costa Rica! Parent information meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30 PM in room 300. Stop by Coach Cooley’s room to pick up a flyer and RSVP. This trip is open to all MHS students.

Attention Juniors: Youth Leadership Shelby County is now taking applications for this year’s class. This is a 6-month program designed to engage enthusiastic young leaders in hands-on civic experiences led by other adult community leaders. Students who are selected for the program must be able to attend a mandatory overnight retreat Nov. 3-4. See Ms. Allen for an application packet. The submission deadline is Oct. 1.

Food Pantry of MHS is accepting donations . Items may be dropped off at the main office.

Senior portrait orders are September 4th, 7-8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. All picture orders for football, cheer, and band are due first thing in the morning Tuesday, September 4th.

Tomorrow’s theme is “Wipe out the Wildcats.” Students should dress in beach clothes. Dress Code applies

MHS is going to Costa Rica! If you would like to spend part of your summer hiking up a volcano, zip lining through the jungle, seeing exotic wildlife and eating delicious food in a tropical paradise, then this is the trip for you. Parent information meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30 PM in room 300. Stop by Coach Cooley’s room to pick up a flyer and RSVP. This trip is open to all MHS students.

FCCLA completed applications are due TODAY by 2 PM to Mrs. Carter.

There will be a FBLA MEETING TOMORROW @ 3:05 PM ROOM 205(MRS. NUNN’S ROOM) All old and new members should to be present.

Friday’s dress up theme is “school spirit.” Students should dress
in school colors.

Teacher & student volunteers are needed for next week’s Pep Rally Games. See any cheerleader during lunch to sign up.

Once again you are reminded that you must have a parking decal to park on campus. If you do not have a decal or you are parked in the wrong space, your auto is subject to being towed at your expense! You must park in the space number that corresponds to your decal number.

If you are interested in joining FCCLA you must retrieve an application from Mrs. Carter. The deadline to return completed applications is August 28th by 2PM.

Attention Seniors: Senior Parent Night will be held on Mon., Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. in the PAC. Important information will be shared regarding senior activities, college admissions, financial aid, and important dates. Parents will also be able to pay the $100 senior fee on site. Please make plans to attend!

Attention Sophomores: Connect 2 Careers at the Shelby County Career Technical Education Center permission forms are due TODAY to Ms. Allen

Anyone interested in trying out for the girls’ basketball team needs to see Coach Niven by TOMORROW to sign up.

Softball tryouts will be Sept. 3-4 from 6-8 pm at the softball field. You must have a current physical and a copy given to Coach Niven before you tryout. Sign up for tryouts in Coach Niven’s room by TOMORROW.

No cell phones, hoodies or earbuds are allowed in any building on campus.

If you have an afternoon activity, please report directly to it at the 3:00 bell. Once you exit the front of the building, you will not be allowed to reenter the front. Any sports, cheer or band practice may enter through the back.

Attention Dual Enrollment Students: If you will be taking a dual enrollment class during MHS school hours at UM this fall, please be sure to sign out and in with Mrs. Majors in the main office. Remember too that it is your responsibility to make up missed assignments from your MHS classes you miss during the week.

There will be an SGA meeting in Ms. Pastor’s room – 107 main building- at 7:00 am tomorrow morning. Breakfast will be served, please enter through Oak Street door by Ms. Pastor’s classroom.

Come to ladies Bible Study starting Tuesday morning, August 20th . We meet in Mrs. Cabrera’s room in the Alice Boyd building every Tuesday morning. We will have breakfast and a message just for ladies.
