FFA is now selling fruit! See any member or notify the AG Shop if you would like to purchase. Payment must be made at time of ordering.

Reminder that class/sports fees are now due. Please check with your teacher/coach or main office for balances.

Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: The Montevallo Rotary Club is seeking outstanding students to take part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program which is a leadership training program for selected students. It will take place at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville Jan. 30-Feb. 1. Interested students must submit applications by Nov. 5 and copies can be picked up outside Ms. Allen’s office.

All approved* FCCLA member dues are due on Monday to Mrs. Carter. No late payments accepted.

Fall tennis evaluations will be at the UM courts from 3:30-5 on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

FBLA Halloween Costume Contest. Wear your costume to school next Thursday and pay $2.00 to enter the costume contest. Costumes will be judged on creativity and originality. Any student that wears a costume must pay $2.00 during 1st period. Names will be taken down and entered into the contest.

PTO is hosting Honor Roll reception. Mrs. Cabrera is asking for donations of can drinks and family size bags of chips. You may deliver them to the office or give to Mrs. Cabrera. Honor Roll reception will be held Oct. 30th

Fall tennis evaluations will be at the UM courts from 3:30-5 on Oct 28, 29, 30. Anyone interested in attending tennis evaluations next week needs to attend a brief meeting in Mrs House’s room after school on Thursday Oct 24.

 Attention Students: Shelton State Community College and Mercedes-Benz US International will host an information session at Thompson High School TOMORROW at 6 p.m. It will be held in their Performing Arts Center and will give students the opportunity to learn about the program options with Mercedes Benz and Shelton State.

Big thanks to Michael Jones, Xavier Cartwell, and Reid Cordes for staying after school Fri- day and cleaning up the whole gym from the aftermath of the pep rally. They didn’t have to stay but they did. Thank you guys!

Baseball tryouts will be held after football season. Anyone wanting to try out must see Coach Shelton after school in the athletic hall to sign up. Deadline to sign up is TOMORROW.

Juniors and Seniors: A representative from Jacksonville State University will be on campus TODAY to meet with interested students. The meeting will be 3rd period in the library.

Attention Seniors: Do you need help getting started on your FAFSA? If so, MHS will be offering assistance on Oct. 22. Please sign up outside Ms. Allen’s office by TOMORROW and grab one of the handouts. Appointment cards will be given at a later date. Parents who wish to make an appointment should contact Ms. Allen.

Attention AP Students: If you paid your deposit to participate in AP exams in May, you must use your AP teacher’s join code

and officially register for the course by completing your college board account. Your exam cannot be ordered if you do not fol-
low this process.

Students are NOT allowed to receive outside food during the school day. Please do not bring food to the office or meet your student outside with food. Any questions, please refer to page 11 of the MHS Student Handbook.

Attention Seniors and Sophomores: You will participate in E-Day testing on Tuesday for the ACT Workkeys and the Pre-ACT. Please arrive to school on time and remember that cell phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited. Your test locations will be placed in the cafeteria by Tues. morning.

TESTING TOMORROW

Shelby County High Schools will be participating in an E-Day tomorrow, October 8th. All 10th & 12th grade students will be testing (PreACT & WorkKeys). The 9th & 11th graders will not attend school on campus; however, they will be required to complete an E-Day assignment. Please review the E-Day overview document for details.

For Character Day Dress up Participation, the Freshman earned 1st place with 4 points, Sophomores 2nd place with 3 points, Juniors 3rd place with 3 points, and Seniors came in last with one point.

A reminder the Powderpuff Game has been rescheduled to a later date to be announced.

Remember the FBLA Canned Good Drive and Coin Drop class competitions that are going on this week. Help your class win points by bringing cans and money!

Don’t forget to bring money on Thursday and Friday to purchase a ticket to watch the grade level volleyball and dodgeball tournaments. $2 Tickets to watch will be sold each day at lunchtime.
Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale during lunch every day through Friday.

ANY and ALL seniors, Mrs. Cabrera is holding tutoring Saturday, Oct. 5th for Applied Math WorkKeys. From 9 – 12. Sign up with YOUR math teacher.
