Homecoming Court completed packets and the registration fee of $10 are due today.

School day pictures & Sr. portrait make-ups are Monday, September 20. There is a
$30 sitting fee that is due for the Sr. portrait make-up .

Softball try-outs will begin Tuesday September 28 thru Thursday September 30th
from 3:30 to 5:30. See Coach Gothard in room 114 for a try-out packet. Packets
MUST be returned prior to the first day of tryouts.

Attention Students: September is Attendance Awareness Month and MHS wants
to recognize students who manage to go each week with no tardies or absences.

Weekly recognition will include a special treat, and at the end of September, all week-
ly honorees will have their names go in a drawing for some cool MHS gear!

Freshman & Sophomores, please remember to turn in your Upward Bound applica-
tions as soon as possible. Interviews are being held this month for Upward Bound.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month and the countries that gained independ-
ence from Spain on September 15- Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua and on September 16-Mexico Senora Carlos would like to invite you to
proudly wear the colors of your flag on Wednesday and Thursday.

Students: After school detention will be held this Thursday beginning promptly at
3:05 in Room 205.

Seniors, remember to submit your YLDP applications. If any senior is interested in
applying see Mrs. Walker for an application. There is still time to do so.

I am a alumni of Montevallo High and the University of Montevallo. I have been a teacher at Montevallo Elementary for 10 years, a librarian at Creek View Elementary for 5 years and have been the librarian at Montevallo High School for several years now. It's exciting to be working at the same school I went to many years ago.
