*No School on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
*Tuesday night is the MMS Open House beginning at 5:30 pm in the new gymnasium. There will be a few guest speakers and performances from the MMS 7th and 8th grade bands and the MMS Choir. After the assembly, parents may visit classrooms and view the new school facilities. There will also be chess games set up in the library if you would like to play a game of chess with your child in celebration of the Montevallo Chess Initiative. The Open House will end at 7:30 pm. Punch and cookies will be served.
*For 8th graders who wanted to order the 8th grade panoramic pictures, the deadline was extended until tomorrow. (Saturday, January 16th)
*The Montevallo Day of Pageants will be held on February 6th in the Performing Arts Center at MHS. The registration packets are now in the office for pick up and are due on Friday, January 29th.
*Please keep turning in Boxtops for Education. For every 10 turned in, your child will receive two tardy to class passes. Also we are still having our candy fundraiser.
*Attached to this email is a flyer about the Power Up Mother/Daughter program for any interested students.
*Shelby County Schools will be offering night classes for adults in the areas of welding, carpentry, and automotive skills beginning in February. Below is the link to the article about the program. If you are interested in taking any of these classes please contact the following individuals:
