*Character Education Theme for the Week: African American Spotlight: Fredrick Douglas was born a slave in the year 1818 and escaped when he was twenty years old. He was nationally known as an anti-slavery activist, who spoke against slavery all over the country before and during the Civil War. He died in 1895.

*This Friday will be break. Kona Ice will be here as a fundraiser to help FCCLA.

*7th Grade Math Team will meet tomorrow (Tuesday) after school.

*Ms. Allen from the High School will be here today to meet with the 8th grade students about next year’s course selections. She will be meeting with Mr. Weeks classes. You must return your course selection for next year to her on Monday, March 5th. The course selections must be signed by your parent.

*There will be a parent interest meeting tomorrow night at 5:30 in the media Center for girls interested in trying out for Cheerleader.

*Tennis has a match tomorrow at 4pm. Soccer and Tennis have games on Wednesday.

*Keep selling your coupon books.

*Yearbooks are on sale today for $30.00.

*The 2018-2019 MMS Cheerleading Try-outs Clinic will be on March 12-15 @ MHS from 3:00-5:00. Try-outs will be on Friday, March 16 @ MHS 3:00.  Please see Mrs. Bishop for the registration packet.  .

*Congratulations to the student of the week: Rodrigo Flores. He was nominated by Mrs. Lewis. Mrs. Lewis states that Rodrigo exhibited the character traits of service and compassion when he stopped to help a student who dropped their belongings in a crowded hallway.
