Due to the response to our monthly school supply sales and requests from students to have it more frequently, Academic Partners is proud to announce that we are planning to host the “What Do You Need Wednesday Sale” weekly starting today through Spring Break.     Remind your kids to bring their money and avoid that trip to Walmart while supporting our school.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED  In order to host the sales weekly, we need some volunteers each week to come and help with the sales.  Please look at your calendar and consider signing up to help.  Please note that we can only have the sales each week if we are able to get some volunteers – so check your schedule and see if there might be at least one shift that you could come out and help.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C49AFAC2BA0FD0-what

Parents, when submitting in a doctor note from Urgent Care for Children on Cahaba Park Circle, please make sure that you include your students last name. The doctor’s note does not put them on there.  To insure that it is properly recorded to your child’s record, please write it on the excuse.

As we enter the 2nd semester and the flu season, please be aware that Shelby County Board of Education only allows 10 parent notes per school year.  This includes parent excused sick notes, parent unexcused notes, and principal permission days.  These are days not documented and covered by a doctor’s excuse. Any absence above 10 days not covered by a doctor’s excuse will be considered unexcused.  You can view the number of parent notes you have used in INow.  The complete policy can be found in the Shelby County Board of Education Code of Conduct.

OMMS PTO is looking for businesses to sponsor our school!  For $250, your company logo will be featured on the OMMS Life Facebook page (which has over 900 followers!) all year long and your company information will be distributed in a school-wide list serve email.  Our partnership allows for extremely targeted advertising to almost 1,100 students and their families!  Please turn in the attached form and your donation to the front office to show your support of OMMS students and teachers!

Registration for the Oak Mountain High School Color Run is now open at www.oakmountaincolorrun.com. The date is March 7 at Oak Mountain State Park. All proceeds will benefit the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. Help us pass the $100,000 mark raised by supporting and signing up this year!
