OMMS October 28 Daily Announcements

Baseball tryouts will continue this weekend at Oak Mountain High School.  Friday, October 30 (3:30-5:30) – Friday is for basketball players and wrestlers only; Saturday, October 31 (9:00-12:00); Sunday, November 1 (1:30-4:30).

Students and teachers make plans this Friday to wear your best school appropriate Halloween costume.  Remember, no full masks, no paint (hair, face or body), and costumes must follow dress code.  

Eagle Ambassadors will meet at 7:20 on Tuesday 11/3 in B-10. 

Congratulations to these students who will be on the Girls Tennis Team:  Elizabeth B, Raegan C, Hayden C, Allison C, Hollis G, Kaitlyn G, Sydney H, Ashley H, Avery Mc, Ruby S, Madison T, Mary Elizabeth W.  Information will be forthcoming about a parent meeting.

SGA Communication and Spirit Committee meets outside A17 Tuesday at 7:20am.

Phase 1 Community Service Group Applications.  Making a difference begins with you!  We are a community service group that meets after school once per month to help in our school and community.  We will accept applications from past members and current 6th grade students.  Due to Covid 19, we will have a smaller group this year.  Applications may be picked up outside of A-19 (Mrs. Nobles) and returned there as well.  Application deadline is today with no exceptions.

Baseball Tryout Schedule:  Friday 10/23 4:00-6:00; Saturday 10/24 9:00-12:00; Sunday 10/25 1:30-4:30.  Tryouts are at Oak Mountain High School.  Basketball and wrestling team members should only attend the Saturday and Sunday sessions.  All paperwork must be 100% complete in DragonFly to tryout.  

Wrestling practice is cancelled today.  Wrestlers should go home after school.

SGA Committee Meetings are as follows:  Sports Committee meets outside A5 Monday during Advisory.  Service and Fundraising Committees meet outside A20 Monday during Advisory.  (Students should check in with advisory teachers before reporting for meeting.)  Communication and Spirit Committee meets outside A17 Tuesday at 7:20am.

Scholars Bowl Tryouts for all grade levels is today from 3-4pm in room A-2.  Parents should pick up under the bus canopy outside door #3.

Scholars Bowl Tryouts for all grade levels will be on Tuesday, October 20th from 3-4pm in room A-2.  Parents should pick up under the bus canopy outside door #3.  Please go to the Scholars Bowl blog on the OMMS website and complete the Google form if you are interested in trying out.  

Any 7th or 8th grader interested in being on the JUNA (Junior United Nations Assembly) Team is invited to pick up an application outside of room A17 starting tomorrow.  Applications will be due October 21st.

Wrestlers need to go to room A-8 to pick up the sports participation forms.  If you played a fall sport you will not need to get a packet. 

Phase 1 Community Service Group Applications.  Making a difference begins with you!  We are a community service group that meets after school once per month to help in our school and community.  We will accept applications from past members and current 6th grade students.  Due to Covid 19, we will have a smaller group this year.  Applications may be picked up outside of A-19 (Mrs. Nobles) and returned there as well.  Application deadline is Friday, October 24, 2020 with no acceptions.

Tryouts for the 2020-21 OMMS Tennis Team will be separated by boys and girls. The girls tryouts will be held Monday, October 26 at 4:00 at Inverness Racquet Club. The boys tryouts will be held Monday, November 2 at 4:00 at Inverness Racquet Club. Players interested in trying out should sign up with Coach Burdett in room B10. Each player trying out must bring a racquet and a can of 3 tennis balls labeled with the player’s initials in Sharpie.  All students must have all paperwork 100% completed in DragonFly Max before they are eligible to tryout.

Baseball Tryout Schedule:  Thursday 10/22 4:00-6:00; Friday 10/23 4:00-6:00; Saturday 10/24 9:00-12:00; Sunday 10/25 1:30-4:30.  Basketball team members should only attend the Saturday and Sunday sessions.  All paperwork must be 100% complete in DragonFly to tryout.
