Thank You from Oak Mountain Middle School

At a time when our society is faced with uncertainty and our schools are challenged both socially and financially as a result of Covid 19, your continued kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated. Thank you for contributing hand sanitizers, tissues, Lysol, and wipes to help in efforts to keep the school as clean and disinfected as possible.  In addition to helping us maintain the highest of standards while keeping our students and staff safe, your generosity is uplifting to all of us and deeply appreciated.  Please continue to contribute as you can.  You would be surprised how quickly we go through cleaning supplies.

I also want to express our deepest appreciation to the Church of the Highlands and the Middle School Ministry team at the Greystone campus.  On Tuesday, staff members from the Greystone campus presented us with a variety of items that included the following:  Three cases of the bioesque disinfectant (a $450 retail value) that is used to fog our classrooms and common areas throughout the school.  This chemical kills Covid 19 and other potential viruses.  In addition, they brought 14 cases of paper towels (420 rolls), 900 microfiber towels, and seven cases of hand sanitizer that will also be utilized to protect our students and staff.

Furthermore, I would be remiss not to express our sincere appreciation and deepest thanks to the following community servants and businesses who have contributed their time and talents to OMMS and other OM schools during these uncertain times:

·         Thank you to volunteers from the Greystone campus’ Middle School Serve Team for giving up personal time on a recent Saturday to address landscaping needs on our campus.

·         Thank you to Country Financial for donating face masks with the OM logo for our entire faculty and staff.

·         Thank you to the North Shelby Fire Department and retiring Chief Buddy Tyler for obtaining several cases of hand sanitizers for classrooms that were distributed to all the Oak Mountain schools.

In summary, I cannot adequately put into words the deep appreciation to you (our parents) and for your continuous support and encouragement, in addition to the generous contributions from our amazing community organizations and their leaders.  You are appreciated!

Warmest regards,

Larry Haynes, Ed. D
