Congratulations to our winner today….Brian S won 2 $50 gift cards by raising $250 for our fundraiser! You can win, too! All you have to do is sign up, call, text, or email friends and family and ask them to donate to our school and to “Feed the Need.” We are a LONG way away from our goal of $100,000….but it doesn’t have to stay that way. If each student would raise just $100,  then we would not only reach our goal but exceed our goal! So get out there, start asking for donations and start helping our school!

Debate team will meet after school from 3:00-4:30 this Thursday (9/30) in Mrs. Rich’s room (B14). If you are not sure whether or not you made the team, make sure you have checked your email for an email from Mrs. Rich! 

6th, 7th and 8th grade Scholars Bowl tryouts will be Tuesday, October 5th. If interested, please complete the Google Form on the Scholars Bowl blog located under Clubs and Organizations. The time and location of the tryouts will be announced soon.

SGA will meet Wednesday morning at 7:20am in the cafeteria.

If you are interested in trying out for the 2021-22 OMMS Tennis Team, signups are from today through Oct. 22. Please follow the link below to sign up. All paperwork must be 100% complete in DragonflyMax by Oct. 22 to be able to participate in tryouts. Tryouts will be held at Inverness Racquet Club. Girls will tryout on Oct. 25th from 4:00 until 5:30 and boys will tryout on Nov. 1 from 4:00 until 5:30. Season passes are still available for a limited time.  If you purchased a season pass, your name will be on a list at the gate. The ticket does not need to be transferred to your student.  *The family pass includes 4 people, living under the same roof.* Please see the attached PDF for more information about season passes.  NO CASH will be accepted at the gate. 7th and 8th graders:  Are you interested in music and dance? Are you creative and competitive? If you said yes to either of these questions, you should audition for Winter Guard! Winter Guard is a competitive performance group that incorporates dance, flags, and other equipment to put on a show. If you are interested in learning more about Winter Guard, an interest meeting will be held in the OMMS cafeteria on Tuesday, September 28th at 6 pm. If you have any questions, come see Ms. Marzullo in G-6. Tryouts will be held October 18th-21st at Oak Mountain High School in the cafeteria.

Any 7th-8th grade student with competitive swim experience interested in joining the OMHS Swim Team needs to contact Ms. Hubbard at khubbard@shelbyed.org. The Sectionals Meet will be held in November and students will need to have a current physical on file as well as other paperwork on Dragonfly.
