October 19 Announcements

Report cards will be sent home onĀ Friday, October 22nd.Ā Ā 

CodingĀ ClubĀ will meet Wednesday, October 20th, in Mrs. Carterā€™s room D2, from 3-4:30.

SGA will meet tomorrow morning at 7:20am in the cafeteria.

Canned Food Drive Collection Underway
The OMMS Phase I Community Service Group’s annual canned food drive to benefit Oak Mountain Mission will runĀ October 18-26.Ā  All canned and non-perishable items are appreciated, but primary needs include canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, jelly, and boxed macaroni and cheese. So far the top winners for each grade level are as follows:Ā  6th Pierce; 7th Alaimo; 8th Acton.Ā  Please bring in as many itemsĀ as possible. Can your class win the pizza party?Ā  Ā

Basketball Teams Aim to Promote School Spirit                                                       

Seventh and Eighth grade boys basketball will host the Homewood Patriots for their first home game on Thursday, November 4th.  Our theme will be WHITE OUT!  All spectators are encouraged to “White Out” the gym with as many white shirts as possible.  Interested students or parents may order an OM basketball white out t-shirt by this Friday, October 22nd. Sign up for OMMS Boys and Girls Tennis Teams

Students interested in trying out for the 2021-22 OMMS Tennis Team, signups are now through Oct. 22. Please follow the link below to sign up. All paperwork must be 100% complete in DragonflyMax by Oct. 22 to be able to participate in tryouts. Tryouts will be held at Inverness Racquet Club. Girls will tryout on Oct. 25th from 4:00 until 5:30 and boys will tryout on Nov. 1 from 4:00 until 5:30. Signup is available on the OMMS Tennis Blog or by using the signup link: https://forms.gle/9e4xKkxxKrY8k9hY7. OM Boys Rec Basketball League Information
Registration is now open for theĀ OM Boys Rec Basketball League. The league is open to all 2nd-6th grader boys residing in the Oak Mountain area. Cost is $130/player and there will be 60 spots for each age group (2-4 and 5-6). Player Evaluations are tentativeĀ for 10/24. Please follow ourĀ FacebookĀ page for updates.

Competitive Swimmers Needed for OMHS Swim Team                                             

Any 7th-8th grade student with competitive swim experience interested in joining the OMHS Swim Team needs to contact Ms. Hubbard at khubbard@shelbyed.org. The Sectionals Meet will be held in November and students will need to have a current physical on file as well as other paperwork on Dragonfly.
