It’s Gala Week!! OMMS Valentines Gala is this Friday, Feb 11th from 7pm – 10pm. We will be selling admission tickets and fun tickets through myschoolbucks.com.

Message from OMHS:  Current 8th grade parents, we want to invite you to a parent course selection meeting where our counselors will cover the same material your child was heard on Thursday, Feb. 3rd. These meetings will be in the PAC at OMHS Monday, Feb. 7 at 6pm or Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 8am. Please utilize the PAC doors off of the commons.

Candy Grams:  The SGA will sell Candy Grams by grade level this week during advisory on the following days:  6th Grade – Tuesday, Feb. 8th; 7th Grade – Wednesday, Feb. 9th; 8th Grade – Thursday, Feb. 10th.  Send some love to a friend, a teacher, or yourself.  $1 each.  Candy Grams will be delivered during advisory the day after the purchase.

OMMS SPORTS

Current 6th and 7th grade girls that want to try out for the 2022 volleyball teams need to complete all requirements found on the OMMS Volleyball Website and sign up in Coach Gunnels’s room A-21. Requirements must be met by March 2nd – NO EXCEPTIONS. Tryouts will be held March 7-10 at OMMS. 

Cheer Tryouts:  Current 6th and 7th grade girls wanting to try out for the 2022-23 cheerleading squad must sign up in Coach Chartrand’s room (D-5) between now and Feb. 11. All candidates must be 100% in Dragonfly by Friday, Mar. 4-NO EXCEPTIONS. Clinic is Tuesday, March 15- Thursday, March 17 (mandatory). Tryouts are Friday, Mar. 18th at OMMS.

FROM OMHS:The Oak Mountain Color Run will be on Saturday, March 5th at Oak Mountain State Park. Proceeds from this event will be given to the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB for cancer research. For more information and to register, visit the SGA Color Run website, COLOR RUN 2022 . 

Any 8th grader interested in trying out for the 2022-2023 OMHS Visual Ensemble (color guard or winter guard) needs to attend the mandatory interest meeting on Thursday, February 24th at 6:00pm in the OMHS band room. Mandatory tryout clinics will be April 4th-6th from 3:30-6:45, and tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 7th beginning at 3:30.
