May 11th Announcements

SCORE Registration is open for New and Returning Students.  No access codes are needed for Returning Students.  Please be sure you are registering for the 2022-2023 School Year.  Please submit this information by Thursday, May 26th.  

Reminder to students that these items are not in dress code:  leggings/yoga pants of any style, crop tops, pants with holes above the knees, athletic shorts.

Students should not bring food or drinks with them in to school or have it dropped off at lunch.  Examples are Starbucks, Chick Fil A, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, etc.

Please make plans to pick up any medication from the health room by May 26th. We are not allowed to keep any medication over the summer, so any medicine not picked up by the end of the school day May 26th will have to be destroyed. You can come by to pick up medication on school days from 7:15am to 3pm. 

OMMS PTO needs YOU! Please join us for a meeting at OMMS Monday, May 16 at 12:00pm to hear about ways that you can be involved in the 22-23 school year! We will also be streaming the meeting via Facebook Live on the OMMS Facebook page for those that can’t make it to the school.

You’re invited to the OMMS Spring Choir Concert at Metropolitan Church on Thursday, May 12 at 7pm. Admission is free, and there will be a bake sale afterward.

Any 6th or 7th grader interested in being on the JUNA team next year, may pick up an application outside room A17.  Completed applications are due by Friday, May 13th.  

All library books are due by this Thursday, May 12th. 

We are now accepting applications for next year’s New Eagle Welcome Staff (N.E.W.S.). N.E.W.S. members will eat lunch with and give tours to transfer students throughout the year. Members must be available every so often during advisory. Applications are available in the front office and are due May 20th.

21-22 Yearbooks Are Here! Students who have already purchased a yearbook will receive their copy on May 20th during PE class. If you are unsure of whether or not you purchased a book, please refer to the student list posted in the gym.

Want to Purchase a Yearbook? Yes, we still have a limited number available! If you still need to purchase this year’s yearbook, please go to myschoolbucks.com and fill in the required information OR scan the attached QR code for your convenience. Yearbooks are $50. If you purchase before May 20th, your yearbook will also be distributed during your child’s PE class. In addition, we still have some copies of last year’s yearbook (2020-2021) available at the discounted price of $10.00. Please see Mrs. Whitt in the office to purchase one with check or cash (please bring exact change). All books are on a first come, first serve basis. OMMS SPORTS

Wrestling sign-ups Coach White has placed information about wrestling sign-ups in the halls. Please sign-up with the QR code. The sign up is for upcoming 6th and 7th grade GIRLS and BOYS wanting information about wrestling. Coach White wants to start communicating about the next season with potential wrestlers. OMHS boys basketball tryouts are May 19 & 20 from 3:15 to 5:45. Must have current physical and other Dragonfly forms completed. 

OMHS Girls Golf Team:  those interested in trying out for the OMHS Girls Golf Team can contact Coach Susan Schwartz. Sschwartz@shelbyed.org.  Rising ninth graders that make the team will go into 8th period athletics with the team and will not have PE.Â
