Eligibility Requirements
Applications for institutional scholarships must be received by the published deadline. Applications are normally available starting late Fall for the following academic year. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) before applying for any institutional scholarship. In order to receive an institutional scholarship, a student must meet all college admission requirements.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCED FOR ALABAMA RESIDENTS INTERESTED IN COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROGRAMS RELATED TO AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING 
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) announce the availability of 30 scholarships for residents in Alabama who want to pursue a technical education certificate or associate degree in programs related to the automotive manufacturing industry.  

Funding is available to award a total of 30 $1,800 scholarships to students who are enrolled in a program at an Alabama community college that is associated with automotive manufacturing careers. Interested students with at least a 2.5 GPA can learn more information and apply directly through the website, dreamitdoitalabama.com/aama/. The deadline to apply is March 31. 

Students who are awarded the scholarship may use the funds for their summer or fall 2022 tuition, books, and fees associated with the approved program of study.  A full submission for the scholarship requires the following: a completed application; a resume; a maximum 500-word essay on why the student wants to work in Alabama’s automotive industry; one signed reference letter; an unofficial college or high school transcript; and a headshot photo.   

Programs in which applicants can use the scholarship include the following: Automotive Manufacturing Technology; Automotive Manufacturing; Automotive Service Technician; Computer Numerical Control; Engineering Technology; Industrial Electronics Technology; Industrial Maintenance Technology; Injection Molding; Logistics; Machine Shop/Tool Technology; Manufacturing Technology; Mechanical Design Technology; Mechatronics; or Welding Technology.

The University of Alabama Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program

High School students interested in attending The University of Alabama are invited to a virtual Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program session. Students are encouraged to attend this session before applying for admission, as the scholarship application is now part of the admissions process.

Students are invited to join representatives from Alumni Scholarships, Admissions, and the Black Alumni Chapter to learn about available scholarships and discover ways for their scholarship application to stand out.

Mississippi State University


Several applications are available and important for students’ MSU admissions process. Two of these will require being admitted to Mississippi State University, students should submit their application for MSU admission as soon as possible. They can apply at  or through the Common App.

❏  The  is open to all admitted students. This application will allow students to be considered for competitive and private scholarships. To receive maximum consideration for these additional scholarships, high school students need to submit the GSA by . (So it is very important for students to submit their application for admission ASAP!)

❏  Additionally, the  is now open for admitted students.  please note that students have until April 1, 2023, to submit the Housing Application in order to keep their housing priority. Housing priority is based on when students submit their application to the university – not when they submit the Housing Application.

Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester.
Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must attend an eligible public high school

  • Applicant’s Adjusted Household Income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not Exceed $85,000.
