The Linda Nolen Learning Center Celebrates Veteran’s Day

LNLC Vet Day LNLC Vet Day 2

Students and Staff at the Linda Nolen Learning Center celebrated Veteran’s Day the military way by wearing camouflage. The school also had a Wall of Honor, where names of military friends and family members who are retired, reserved, active, inactive and deceased were place on red, white and blue stars down the hall.

Military vehicles from the Military Vehicle Preservation Association (The Dixie Division) driven by Russell Parker, Chris Storey, Steve Stevenson and Kevin Doriety, adorned the front entrance while students and staff welcomed them by waving American flags.  The day ended with two speakers from the Lakeshore Foundation, Makora Nong, who is in training for the wheelchair Olympics, and disabled veteran Shawn Castle. The National Anthem and a rendition of, “You Lift Me Up”, was sung by LNLC teacher, Matthew Holsomback.
