Montevallo High School Awarded $2,500 from Lemak Sports Medicine

Lemak Award Presentation_July 2014Montevallo High School was recently awarded $25,00 from Lemak Sports Medicine and Dr. Lawrence Lemak at this year’s Alabama High School Athletic Association Championship Dinner. This award is provided to schools to help improve and enhance their athletics programs.

Mr. Kevin Raybon, assistant principal, and Wesley Hester, principal, were on hand to accept the award. The award was presented to Mr. Hester by Governor Robert Bentley and Dr. Lemak.

According to Mr. Hester, the money will be used to raise the level of support and training for student-athletes at MHS. This will include the acquisition of additional resources, equipment, and improved facilities to better serve and support all athletics’ programs at MHS.

“Although our standards of excellence and performance are as high as any other school or program in the state, large or small, this award will tremendously benefit our programs at higher levels because we do operate on relatively small budgets,” said Hester. “My gratitude for Dr. Lemak and Lemak Sports Medicine cannot be overstated. Lemak Sports not only provides top-notch support and services for our student-athletes and coaches year after year, but they also offer this type of monetary assistance to take programs to the next level. Also, I want to thank Coach Brent McCaleb for driving this effort to be selected as one of the award-winning schools. This will go a long way in supporting our programs.”
