Dr. Michelle Edwards Named Principal of Vincent Middle/High School

Michelle EdwardsThe Shelby County Board of Education has named Dr. Michelle Edwards as the new principal of Vincent Middle/High School.  Dr. Edwards has 16 years experience in education and most recently was serving as the assistant principal at Calera High School.

“I am grateful to the Board of Education for giving me this amazing opportunity,” Dr. Edwards told the board members following her appointment. “I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in the Vincent community and becoming part of the Vincent family.”

Prior to working in Calera, Dr. Edwards taught English and Broadcasting at Chelsea High School, where she also served as the head coach of the girl’s basketball team.  She also has experience working with programs such as ACCESS Distance Learning, My Future, and various credit recovery programs.

She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English and Health Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration at Jacksonville State University.  Dr. Edwards also earned an Ed.S and Ed.D in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama.
