Montevallo Community Unveils New Logos

mhs-logoDr. Wesley Hester, principal at Montevallo High School, said a new logo that was recently unveiled on the school’s website was a community wide effort.  A committee that included all three school administrators, PTO representatives, Montevallo Youth Sports, and the Montevallo Athletic Club, helped to pick the new logo.

“It’s a community logo!” Dr. Hester said. “It is going to be jointly used by all of us.  There were several different versions of our previous logo.  We wanted a new one that would unify our whole community. ”

The new logo features an “M” with the school’s Bulldog mascot.  Hester said the new logo has been in development since April.  It was developed by an artist at Shelby Printing based on input from the committee who had researched other bulldog logos online.

“We found some images that we liked online,” Hester said.  “But, then he took those and made us something of our very own,” said Dr. Hester.

There is also a Bulldog silhouette logo that is being trademarked and will be used for “Bulldog Wear” clothing and hats.  The “Bulldog Wear” will be sold at the school, events such as Bulldog Day this coming Saturday, and a few stores and vendors in the Montevallo community.

Both logos can be viewed here: http://www.shelbyed.k12.al.us/schools/mhs/index.htm.
