Shelby County College and Career Center Students Place at District SkillsUSA Competition

Students from the Shelby County College and Career Center participated in the district SkillsUSA competition, held March 20 at Bevill State Community College, with several students placing in their events.  These students will now have the opportunity to compete at the state SkillsUSA competition to be held at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center April 21-23.

Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding performance at the district competition:

  • Logan Wood – 3rd¬†place – Extemporaneous Speech
  • Blake Majors – 3rd¬†place – Welding
  • Lavoy Goetz – ¬†4th¬†place – Auto Technology
  • Andrew Latham – 4th¬†place – Electrical Wiring
  • Kyle Thrush – 4th¬†place – Technical Drafting
  • Joel McDaniel – 4th ¬†place – ¬†Pin Design
