Barbara Snyder Named Principal at Shelby County High School

Barbara Snyder SCHS PrincipalBarbara Snyder, who has been serving as the interim principal at Shelby County High School since the retirement of former principal Gene Rogers, will fill the position full time after receiving approval from the Shelby County Board of Education.  Mrs. Snyder has over 23 years of experience  in public education.  She served in the Shelby County School District for 14 years as an assistant principal, including 10 years at Shelby County High.  She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Samford University and a Master of Science Degree in Education Administration from the University of Montevallo.  Mrs. Snyder also received her Educational Specialist Degree in Education Administration from the University of Montevallo.  Currently, she is pursuing an Ed. D at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

  1. I worked with Mrs Snyder at Riverchase Middle school for 8 years she is a wonderful choice. She is an great leader.
