Helena Elementary Second Graders Learn From Helena Police Officer and K-9 Partner

HES SRO and BakThe Helena Elementary second grade classes of Pam Clay, Heather Posey, Lisa Winter, Susan Curtis, and Joseph Cochran recently spent an afternoon learning from two special officers from the Helena Police Department.Ā

Helena Police officers Phillip Richards and his K-9 partner BakĀ demonstrated what theyĀ do on their jobs to helpĀ keep the community safe. Ā The students learned aboutĀ jobs in law enforcementĀ andĀ how the K-9 unit isĀ able to help when the community needs them. Ā In addition to working with the K9 unit, Officer Richards also serves Helena Elementary School as a School Resource Officer.Ā

HES Teachers and Bak“BakĀ only truly cares about his partner and his work, but was very patient toĀ letĀ the students and teachers pet him and take photos,” said Ms. Clay. “Thank you HPD for making this community the best and forĀ Ā your partnership in raising and educating our future.”
