Reading: Students will be tested on vocabulary from what should have been this this week’s readings:
“What Kids Say About Bullying”, “Let the Bullies Beware”, and
“Priscilla and the Wimps”. The test will be fairly simple. Students will be given
definition and they will then choose which of three words matches that
definition.
NEXT WEEK
We will read “Priscilla and the Wimps” next week and decide, from the articles
we read, if the author portrayed middle school and the students who attend
correctly. We will also study characterization and plot. Words for next week:
Learner Language- plot, exposition, conflict, complications, characterization,
direct characterization, indirect characterization, climax, resolution

ENGLISH: Students will take their first tests tomorrow. The test will be on the definitions of pre and post, the bulletted post words and infer, predict, support
NEXT WEEK: We will continue to review capital letters, nouns, pronouns, verbs, sentence fragments and quotation marks in preparation for writing short stories.
We will be writing a response to two videos and 2 non-fiction passages.
We will quiz on the reference sheet for capitalization next week on Friday–
unless there are more changes to my class calendar.
