Grades will be posted Monday and report cards go out on Friday. Students are
becoming accustomed to their new environment with all of the new
requirements that go along with middle school. Some of my students have hit the ground running and some have timidly toed the concrete. Some have decided to make up ground by doing extra credit and taking OOps tests and others have been satisfied with a slower stroll resulting in a very low report card grade. The good news for the leisurely paced is the semester grade3 is the grade that counts for pass of fail and for honors at the end of the year.
Reading: We will be reading and discussing a Poe horror story next week. Students have a quiz on manu and ped words on Wednesday– a Manie Peddie.
Homework due on Tuesday is to write one good context clue sentence for each of the ped words.
English:We will be working on more parts of speech next week. On Thursday we will take a quiz on the short vowel and long vowel words given in class as well as the prefixes in and non. Final typed draft of Gerontology essay is due on Friday typed. We will type Wednesday. Students may type at home and bring work in on a thumb drive.
