nanowrimo update – like 26,000 words – i got inspired by brining my pop singer back into the story to read for small children – about a legend of someone who jumps a horse to warn others about the upcoming war – only to be hit by a pumpkin – so lots of allusions going on there if you know some of those stories…
for thanksgiving, i spent much of the week reading up on sales – kidding – i read about the only U.S. distance runner to ever be suspended for drug use – he admitted – for the first time – that he’d used epo about seven years ago – and basically opened up about it – it was an interesting read – just b/c you wonder – or i do – how many other people doped when things like that were harder to detect (still very hard to detect blood doping)
i read a 20-page insert on japan from the economist – basically, the country is getting old very quickly – and that’s had an effect – everything from its now conservative nature to its problems with pensions – the north korea provocative bombing of south korea i found most disturbing as well – and tried to read up on it
started “the grimm brothers” collection of folktales – barnes and noble went back to offering free classics on the nook – which i find awesome – the grimm brothers book is 600 pages long – much longer than i thought a book of fairy tales would be – they intended the book for adults – guess they missed the audience with stories about red riding hood and cinderella and such:)

Miriam has beeen separated from her whole family and has been a servant, a prisoner, and a Willard too! Arterwards, Miriam and her new friend Hortense went to the market down town to pick-up some groceries. <iriam just coundn't believe how Hortense could pick out so many things with great deals as fast as she was going.
Then on the other side of the steet was a carrige with Madame and Filicite riding into town with the best clothes they could find in their closet.. What do you think happens next…..????????
Hey, well it has been a while since i have been blogging, because of nanowrimo but i’m going to start blogging again. I started to read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and it was just so good that after 2 weeks i am already on the fourth book out of 5. It is going to be hard to explain everything but i’m going to give it a shot.
It starts out with Percy who is a young Half-Blood(Half human, Half god) and his dad is Poeisidon, the god of the seas. His mom is taking him to the orientation at his new highschool, Goode highschool, for his 9th grade year. His moms boyfriend is an english teacher their. Percy is always destroying his schools because so many monsters have attacked him and it is kind’ve hard to not destroy things with a lethal ballpoint pen. Thats right, his ball point pen, when uncapped, turns into a bronze sword called riptide. so, his mom lets him go and he enters through the side enttrance because he sites a girl that he remembers from the last book that I’ll explain later, but while he enters the side he runs into-soon to be-evil cheerleaders.
hey i guess i will have to take a while to get better at this since i have been doing nano wrimo. i am reading the lost hero, the second camp half-blood series. this time it is about the other son of Zeus. his name is Jason and his sister is Thalia from the Percy Jackson series. Jason is placed in a bus at this place called the wilderness school, a place for bad kids. Hera the wife of Zeus put him there and stole his memory. the mist fooled these other half bloods into thinking that they are friends with him. one is a girl and the daughter of Aphrodite. she is supposedly Jason’s girlfriend. the other is a son of Hephaestus and his best friend. jason knows nothing of his past or who he is. now he has to go on a quest to save hera and get his memory back because hera was trapped by mother earth, Gaea. gaea and uronos were the first beings alive and the greeks believe they were the creators of everything. thier children were the titans that percy jackson defeated. gaea is making one of her creations called the giants rise from the earth to have another war against the gods.

I’m still reading The Twilight Saga:Eclipse. The author is Stephanie Meyers(as you know)….. OK, so you know that Bella has been un-grounded by charlie, BUt instead of celebrating the following weekend, Edward talks Bella into flying to Jacksonville. That’s where Renee(Bella’s mom) lives. So they get back, and Charlie has missed Bella so much! I wish I had a dad that would miss me like Charlie does… But Then Charlie tells Bella that jacob had been calling all day. Then Jacob calls again. He asked Bella if she was gonna be at school the next day, and she was. So Everyone’s thoughts were hanging. hey mr. Mayfeild i will blog for 10 mins on point of veiw from Anthony the brother of sarah. I am read the book Mosters of Morley Mannor. They have clones please tell me we dont have to help them too. O so we are done or somethin NOO we arent done. weve got to help re-program your brother okay. But how do we do that and i bet my sister was thinking of having a cloned brother instead of me so she could get whatever she wanted whaen she wanted it. Wait Mr. Morley didnt just die i thought it was onlyo few months ago?o ok its a ghost see iv gotten used to your world already. I’m on the 4th book of the Percy Jackson and the olympians series and I left off as Percy is dropped off in front of his mom’s boyfriends school for orientation hoping he doen’s destroy this school. He sees the girl named Rachel Elizabeth Dare that he met in the last book when she saved his life from evil skeletons. He didn’t want to meet with her again so he took the side way where he was led into 2 cheerleaders named Tammi and Keli. They stopped him and started to harass him which freaked him out and he instantly realized that they were monsters. Suddenly Paul(His mom’s boyfriend) found him and led him to orientation. When he went in their the cheerleaders stepped up and started to speak, then he felt a tug on his jacket and he turned around to find rachel. She was a special person who could see through the mist which is a magical fog that blocks most mortals from seeing monsters and halfbloods, but she was special and Rachel could see what they really were. Rachel didn’t know about the world of half-bloods and gods but she saw the monsters and she took Percy out of orientation into the band room to hide him from the terrible EMPOUSAI’S.

WEll it has been a while but I am still reading Catching Fire. I am not sure where I left off but Katniss and Peeta are on the Hunger Games Tour and then somewhere along the way Katniss and Peeta get engaged. It all happend so fast. The Hunger Games tour is almost over and Katniss is ready to be back home in District 12. They Finally get back to District 12 but they are still on the tour Katniss and Peeta go to the Mayor’s house. Katniss is excited to be hear because she is friends with Madge the Mayor’s daughter. So Katniss is taken by Cinna where she gets into a silvery dress and then she gets ready for another feast! I would get tired of eating all that food. Katniss decides that before the feast she is going to go to the Mayor’s room to say hi to him before the feast. When she gets inside the Mayor is not there and she looks up at the t.v and it is showing her and Peeta from the Hunger Games tour. Then all of a sudden something flashes up on the screen and she can tell that it is something only the mayor should be seeing. She looks up and there are people holding up pictures of her and Peeta. there is arguing and yelling. And the Peacekeepers are killing people right and left. She gets scared and she knows that this was the uprising that President Snow was talking about>

It has been a while since i have blogged so here goes.!! Okay well i am reading the book A Paradise Called Texas!!! And i am going to be doing a povc. Okay so first off what i read was about this little girl who doesnt look that old but see anyways she came home from the schoolhouse and she was telling her father about “the new stranger” which i thought was funny because a quaint little town was like but anyways so see the “new stranger” was trying to get people to move to Texas because it has such rich soil and great large amounts of land!!! Well see this is where my povc comes in see the father wasnt to sure about what he had heard from hte little girl so his wife tried to talk him into doing it, like going to hear all about Texas, but he wasnt at all assured. So once he got there, him and his wife, well he was listening and was beginning to like the idea!!! by the way this is to make up for last night’s which i doid not do!!!

I’m on the 4th book- the battle of the labyrinth, andi left off when Percy went to orientation at his new high school, Goode Highschool, and he runs into 2 cheerleaders who go up on the stage at orientation and start to speak. Percy’s friend Rachel is a mortal who can see through the mist and sees the cheerleaders evil forms. She takes percy into the band room to protect him from the things called empousa’s. Then once the orientation is done they hear the 2 cheerleaders coming towards them. They burst through the door and change into true form. They were vampires with 1 metal leg and 1 goat leg. The first one that attacked was Tammi. She lunged at him and right before she bit him he drew his sword/pen and cut her in half. She quikly shriveled to dust then Kelli came at him but she was different because she had snakes for hair and her eyes were filled with fire. She started to throw instruments at him and she put a hole in the wall behind them. Then they heard tourists coming down the hall, people burst through the door right as Percy was about to stab her, but before she stabbed her she poofed away in flames. The Mist made it look like he just tried to kill a helpless cheerleader, so he grabbed Rachel and they ran out the hole and down the street, and when they got to the end of the street they ran into Percy’s friend Annabeth.
hey, i’m on the bone series- and just to proof -check it, it has a structured plot unlike “Calvin & Hobbes” , only 9 books in the series not 50+ like most graphic novel series. I’d say it works just fine for blogging. okay i think that the author’s purpose for the first bone book is #1-to entertain and #2-to explain. why? well #1- it’s a graphic novel,it’s incredibly humorous,and,it’s fiction.#2-well really it’s the first book, so there’s a lot of explaining to do there anyways, and if that isn’t enough, it starts w/ three animate bones wandering around the desert! that’s a lot of explaining to do!

As both girls went shopping, Miriam could not believe how fast her frined could pick out the ripe foods and get them for a resonable bargain. As Hortense did so, Miriam noticed a buch of young men marching down the street.One of the men had the familiar shaggy hair that James did. so miriam ran down the street to catch up with her brother that she had not seen in a very long time. as she ran down the street, all the soilders thought that she was ESCAPING…so the soilders grabed her by the elbows so she could not run away.. by the time the soilders had relized that she was not escaping, james was already gone and out of sight.when the girls were home, felicite told miriam where one of her sisters were. Polly had been bought by the mayors wife. the mayors wife loves polly so much, miriam knows since she is in a good home, she will be safe and loved there.
Hey mr. Mayfield I’m reading the book monsters of Morley mannor I will blog for ten minutes on authors purpose. Okay here we go I think the the author included this line why would the flinduvans want to take over the earth? I guse he used to play a game that he played with friends on taking over the world like some people play today. I think he included the purple eyed aliean because he used to belive in aliens. I think he included this line considering the mess you people made of this place trying to say we are in a bad living environment. The aouthor said it would take alot to clean our world and the aourthor was right because we are littering this world and now it’s a habbit if we don’t stop we won’t live here anymore we will die of suffercation. I think the author said quikly follow me to sound mysterious and creepy.
Okay i left off with Percy killing the two empousias and running through a hole in the wall along with Rachel and when they finally get far enough away from the school they ran into Percy’s best friend Annabeth who has been friends with him since the first book. They were supposeed to be going to the movies after school because it was the last day of school before Camp Half Blood so they decided to celebrate, but after he told her everything that happened she decided to go straight to Camp Half Blood. Rachel wrote her number on his arm so he could call her and explain everythiing. They then got a cab and went all the way to long island where they arrived at Camp Half Blood. They walked to the top of the hill where they were met by Chiron who is a cinotaur(Half human Half Horse.)

Tuesday: I read the lost hero again. the point of view in this story changes every two chapters. it swaps between Jason, piper,and Leo. there is a faun (half goat half man) but the point of view never goes to him. every time the point of view changes it stays in first person.
Wednesday: now i am going to do change. change in this story occurs a lot. first Jason loses his memory and his life turns upside down. then piper has to betray her friends to save her dad but she saves both. another thing that changes is pipers dads memories. piper gives him an amnesia potion and his memory changes.
today: today i started on the new book in the Haddix found series. it is called sabotaged. it is about the same two characters, Jonah and Katherine, and they have to save another kid from the past. now they have to help Virginia dare return to the lost colony of the Roanoke. they will try to save her and find out the secret of the lost colony.
well that was my fifteen minutes and it really wasn’t as hard as i anticipated.
Hey, I did nanowrimo, but im back! song of today is Love the Way You Lie by Eminem (he got 10 grammy’s!!!) k, so i read harry potter 6 (half blood prince) authors purpose is to entertain and give nerds something to do (jk) umm… i guess ill do summary? it starts withthe prime minister of muggles (our prime, not a wizard, ect) sitting in his office when the prime minister of the wizengamot or something (the wizard) jumps out of the fireplace. they talk about stuff, the muggle thinks hes crazy, wizard leaves. then bellatrix lestrange (sirius’s killer) and narcissa malfoy (dracos mom, bellatrix’s sister) go to severus snape’s house, where he shows off a little wizard servant, then snape and bellatrix make an unbreakable vow. then dumbledore comes to the dursley’s (harry’s torturers/family) to pick up harry to get a professer back at hogwarts. there, harry learns he owns number 12 grimmuland place (sirius’s house, order of the pheonix’s headquarters). they (dumbledore and harry, that is) go to horace slughorn’s house to get him at hogwarts. he agrees eventually. harry goes to the burrow (weasley’s place) and stays there. i gotta go but i shall return!
k had to go do some math and so…. summary. harry’s at the burrow, they get their OWLS (test results) harry pwns (does goooood) so they go to diagon alley and get books and robes and stuff. they go to fred and george’s weasley wizard wheezes (alliteration ftw!!!!!) and see malfoy go to knockturn alley and borgins and burkes (pawn shop) to get some instruckions to fix something that he has and theres another one in the shop. they discuss this until hogwarts express comes. they board and harry and ginny are invited to slughorns slug club. they have a small party, blah blah, harry goes to malfoys room in the train invisibly. malfoy sees him, breaks his nose, and petrifies him (magically). tonks finds him and releases him, they go to hogwarts, he enters,they eat, he sleeps. next day, he has potions w/ slughorn (snape is defense against the dark arts instead) and wins luck potion. nothing interesting happens for a while, then quiditch tryouts are held (btw, harry is captain). nothing interesting, day before match, ron and harry find ginny and dean something snogging (making out), fight, then harry “puts lucky potion in rons drink”. they win, harry reveals he faked the lucky potion spike.nothing interesting, ron goes out with lavender patil b/c ginny teed him off about snogging, ron and hermione fight, hermione asks cormac something to the slug club, harry asks luna lovegood, and thats all so far. buybye!

Ok so I think I left off with Katniss realizing there is an UPRISING…… da da duh….
Well Katniss is back in her district and she is at the mayor;s house currently. Her best friend Gale wont even talk to her and she decides to go and see him. She talks to him and tells him that she wants to run away out into the woods where they can be safe. She is afraid the President Snow will kill her. She tells it to Gale and then he gets all lovey dovey on her and he starts saying I love you…. and stuff. Then everything gets uptight again when Katniss mentions that Peeta would be coming along too. So then Gale storms off and so Katniss leaves to go and talk to Peeta about her plan. She is afraid to ask Peeta if he would run away with her. So she asks him If I ran away would you come with me and Peeta says Yes. Then all of a sudden Katniss see a huge crowd and there is screaming and yelling she goes to see what is happening and she sees Gale all tied up being Whipped… OUCH! She runs up to where Gale is being whipped and throws herself in front of him she gets whipped in the face on time and then the “Whipper” Stops and doesnt Whip anymore. The person leaves that was whipping Gale and Katniss brings Gale to her mom where she then tries to fix Gale up. She gives him differnt medicines and he has gotten a little better.
Sadly this is where I stopped.

This week I’m blogging about The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. It is by Brian Jaques, the author of the Redwall series. Anywho, I know that he wrote this to entertain the reader. I pretty sure anyways. I think he wrote this to entertain, but he used facts about the countries and myths of the Flying Dutchman to an advantage, because he twists it to a new point of view of a never-before-heard-of-character. At the same time though he creates the image a huge ship where the boy is put in the galley.

Wondering what would have happened if Neb (the boy in Castaways of the Flying Dutchman) would have escaped in Denmark?
My guess is that he would have found the black lab and went to a bench and hid until the pirates were gone. Then he would have made a home and been one of those beggars who sits on the corner of the block in New York. Or maybeif he didn’t like the dog anymore … sell the poor black lab. I mean that’s what I would have to do if I were him, but I’m not so that is all his discision. That is what I think would have happened to Neb if he escaped the ship in Denmark.

After a lot of thought The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman is like the beginning of Peter and the Starcatchers. They both have characters get on ships. Neb got on because he was running from his stepbrothers and one of them hit him and he fell into the ice cold water, then all of a sudden a stringy rope hits his head and he uses all his strength to climb onboard. In the other book orphans get onboard because the are forced to be slaves to an evil king overseas. Well, I mean, they have \the same ideas just different plots.

So far the captain of the Flying Dutchmanis making a deal with a chinease merchant who is offering FOUR emeralds for him to deliver emeralds to other high-payng people. On another POV a boy is running from his stepbrothers and runs into a dead-end. His stepbrothers or the ocean?!?!?!?!?!? Which is worse?!?!?!? Well, he doesn’t have a choice because one of his stepbrothers cuffs (hits) him in the jaw and falls into the freezing cold ocean shivering and alone.
I am reading Diary of a wimpy kid:The last straw.So….. So far it is about Greg starting in his new Diary whoops:) Journal on January 1st . He talks about what he gets for Christmas: clothes, Books, and a hamper. While his brother Manny gets lots of candy and toys. In his stocking was a stick of deodorant and a” travel dictionary”( wow thats rough I usualy get candy and fun things not deodorant and a book). And he hopes he will get something fun from his uncle but he gets a hoop hamper and from his from his aunt a ” Math is RAD” book( haha that must suck because reading is the best not math!:D).okay now that thats all over. Then when him and Rowley get to the bus stop( what kind of name ia ROWLEY?)they notice a sign thats says they have to walk to school and its almost a quarter of a mile so they run most of the way to school and they get half way there and notice a bus pass by going to school with the kids just a neighborhood on it( Bhahahaha what bad luck). okay thats over. Gregs parents give Rodrick money to get books to study but instead he got a tattoo( that was stupid). Then Greg writes a childrens book(OKAY how’s that going to go?)Called Wise up, Mr. Shropsharp(WOW that is one intense title)Wel, thats all I have for now :)BYE! 😀

this week iam reading the book the house of the scorpions and right now the main thing that is going on is that this whole time that i have been reading this have not noticed that this storoy obviously took place some time in the future because there are a lot of signs that are like this definately happened sometime in the future. becuase obviousley at this point in time everyone does not fly around in hovercrafts except for older fashioned people which mos of the older fashioned people ride around in regular cars or some of the richer ones (such as ELpatron) he ride around in a limo.)one of the people in this story her name is celia and she worked in a factory as a child that does not sound likke a very good childhood so throughout the rest of the story i am going to guess that this women is either goign to be really stubborn or really mean. alright well that is all for tonight so i guess i will talk to you tommorrow

whats up mr. mayfield tonight i am still reading the book the house of the scorpions and i have noticed that everyone in this town or what ever is very similar. they all wear beautiful clothes. there houses ar also very similar because everyone in this town has a house with a garden.every one eats only the finest of foods and work for four hours a day everyday.and when people were not working they were eitherr flying around in there hovercrafts or they were partying. and the main character in this story said that the only change in his life is that he had learned to cook.he was taught by an old curanda women. A curranda women is a healing or medicine women that only took care of girls. and one thikng that i still have not figured out about this book is what an eejit is because it was said in this book hat everyone was turned into eejits. Ok well that is all that i have for this week and i am going to keep on reading in this book and if I figure out what that is I will tell you or you can tell me either way I am going to find out what an eejit is.
Birthday is tommorow! (rumble from the crowd) Yes yes, I’ll be turning to the golden age, when boys become men, and men…um become senior citizens (YEs Mr. Mayfield I’m pointing at you! Happy First Day of Hanukkah everybody! Now I’m not Jewish or anything but I just saw it printed on my calender this morning. Anyway, I guess since National Novel Writing Month(or Nano Wrimo) is over, so I am back on blogging. It’s too bad I didn’t finish my story. Yet I am still declared a winner. Yea now I just feel special!
So…. Oh, um, last time I left off leaving you kind of hanging, so I shall now continue my odd story that I have been reading on. So the tiger has this real manly voice and still says, ” It’s okay, I am a friendly tiger.” Now in my opinion, I think that that is really dumb. 1. Because tigers can’t talk and I am so glad. 2. If a tiger jumped and landed on you, then you would be crushed because tigers are MASSIVE! So back to the story…. So Harry is like totally freaking out right now. Not really because there is a tiger that is nailing him down to the ground and is talking to him, but the fact that he has totally lost it and is way more insane than his step mother. Then Harry politely asks the tiger if he would get off of him. He does it and Harry carefully and slowly stands up. The tiger and Harry become real good friends after that. Until of coarse………
Well surprisingly that was 15 minutes. That is sadly all I have and I have got to get some sleep now. Bye bye!!!

I’m still doing the bone books, and tonight, I’m going to type about how it would be different if there was a change in character focus, and if the book was focused on only one character (in which would be Fone bone)
it would drastically change the plot by focusing on only one view would drastically reduce the adventure, but drastically induce easiness. it actually would actually make me enjoy the book less, because normally, in the book, it has multiple stories to it, adding more adventure. that’s all that i have for tonight!

Authors purpose: I think the authors purpose is to let the reader know how people with disabilities think and understand the world from their point of view. Letting the reader know how a disabled person feels and know things so they can know how they feel about things and go through things differently but also similar (some how at the same time). for some people it helps them learn about people in the same position Melody is in. It helps them know how the world works through their eyes. Sometimes it is important to know that because you can understand them better from their position.
