wow – the play was so good – well worth getting down to columbiana this afternoon – even if it meant i had to spend the hour beforehand trying to program, reprogram, deprogram, grandmother’s tv remote (it sort of works now, which really means it doesn’t work b/c she’ll never figure out a “sort of fixed” remote – so sort of fixing really did no good, sigh…)
anyway, every year, i’m blown away with the play – this year’s was the best i can ever recall – kudos to all the kids that had roles – just fantastic – i mean, the best i could say about it was that it interrupted nap time, i had gotten up at 4 today and run 18 miles before church – and yet, in a room w/o air, i still managed not to fall asleep – it was that good (or sam and brennan were that loud – or something…)
i did read though…
“confessions of a teenage nomad” – it was free on nook – and a quick read, like 183 pages, so it wasn’t a terrible torture – still, sort of a twilight-like novel where the misfit girl goes to a new school, and suddenly, the gorgeous guy loves her – and it’s all confusing to her – ah, young love – sick… 🙂
“east of eden” – finished early last week – wonderful book – like i said last week – i now want to find it on dvd and see james dean as caleb – i guess the thing i liked most about the book this time was how it addressed time – how, sometimes, if you wait long enough for it – things come back to a wonderful ending – if you can hang on – and as someone who struggles to hang on sometimes, that was a great lesson to reread
“the digital disciple” – book on how to be a follower of JC in the internet world – good read – i learned that none of you like e-mail b/c you can text quicker – which makes me feel old… the author closed the book by suggesting digital holidays – closing everything down sometimes so you can think – i think that’s important – one reason why i don’t keep net at home – that, and i don’t want to watch the red sox lose at home – i’d rather watch that at snap or read about it in the paper

Hey, I hope you don’t mind if I start out on a new book since I finished Peter and the Starcatchers like 2 months ago since I am an incredibly slow blogger. I will be doing my last blogs(I’m so happy….. no offense) on the young man and the sea.
I really like this book so far. I have read 70 pages so far in the last 2 days which is pretty good for me. I really want to read The Old Man and the Sea after because this is a very interesting book. It starts out with the main character who is a young 12 year old boy named Skiff Beamen Jr. Known as Skiffy or Skiff Jr. He is coming home from his last day of school for the year. Just some backgrund information about his family, is that they are swampers(rednecks) who live in a small house, Skiffy’s mom died and his dad has been to depressed since then to get off the T.V. couch and fish so he could provide money. Now it is just Skiffy who has to fish for his dad and put food on the table. When he gets to the dock behind his house, he noices that there fishing boat has sunk to the bottom of the creek and just as he went to go spectate on it, his worse enemy shows up.
Well last week was just wonderful(: After all I didn’t have to do journals or Blog! YAY! I really enjoyed the play… a LOT! It was way better than the Alice in Wonderland play last year.. I remember the first time I saw Alice in Wonderland… I wrote about it and I thought it was Alison Wonderland…(It makes sense for me to get it mixed up…. I guess) This weekend We had the solo and ensemble festival….(For Band) Me, Trey, AJ, And Kaitlin had a saxophone quartet(: We got a superior rating… and I got a superior rating on my Solo(: YAY! So believe it or not…. I have been reading.. I finished Mockingjay… So that means I’m done with book series’ for a while. I am currently reading Heaven is for Real.
This book is amazing.. It just kinda gives me goosebumps because its so awesome.. Haha NERD ALERTT! But seriously its good. This book is about a boy named Colton he was 3 years and he was taken to the hospital.. I’m still not sure what had happened but he had to have an apendectomy…or something… (Don’t know if I spelled that right) Colton was pronounced dead… But within hours later he came back to life. It was a miracle and Colton’s Mom and dad knew that it was the work of god. Colton’s dad is a preacher by the way(: When Colton had been taken to the hospital it was while they were traveling and so several months after Colton’s “Death” They were traveling to go and see some family members.. Colton was healthy and back to normal. while they were on the road Colton’s dad jokingly told Colton that if he didn’t behave he would take him to the hospital. Then his dad asked Colton if he remembered the hospital.. His respnse, “That’s where the angels sang to me” His mom and dad were really confused they asked him what songs that the angels sang and he said they sang “Jesus Loves me” He said he asked the angels to sing him “We will rock you” But they wouldn’t do it. His parents asked him what the angels looked like and the boy told him it looked like his uncle.. (Who apparently had long hair) then the boy said it looked like Pictures he had seen of Jesus. The boy talked about how he was floating up in the sky.. And he could himself being operated on. Then he said he could see his dad and his mom in different rooms of the hospital.. He saw his dad on the floor in a room praying and his mom in a room talking on the phone.. Its just wild.(: I LOVE this Book.

Um.. hey I am on the Young Man and the Sea. I will be doing a POV on Skiffy’s dad who is a washed up loser who sits on the couch and drinks beer the whole day, while his son goes out and makes money, food, and fixes things. He has been like this ever since his wife(Skiffs mom) died.
Okay…. I’m deppresed. What is left for me. I’m sitting here watching CSI:…. oh i don’t even know where they are. Everyday I wake up on this couch with a beer bottle in my hand and I watch as my son makes all the meals and goes out and works. I really do feel sorry for him because I know he should be out with his friends and having fun on his summer vacaion, but everyday I can’t find the strength to pull myself out of the couch. I used to be the best boat maker and fisher. I could probally, on a slow day, catch 5 blue tuna. But as I have told you this whole time, I’m depressed.
sorry i havnt been able to blog iv been runing around alot. well any ways in the loser list he clears his name of stealing the comic by leting the school over the speakers. so im going to start on my summer reading books. i will blog on crash for ten minutes of the point of veiw from me. he knoked his cousin on the butt in his new football helmet. haha is what i thought get owned. some new guy walks on chrashes sidewalk and crash doesnt like it at all. what i thought his next move would be to hit him in the head with a shovel. he finds out that he has a new neighbor from north dekota. i would think haha lets show this guy how its done down south. well thats it bye
Finally got to read this book!! It took the author forever to get it published 🙂 . The story begins with Carter describing him and Sadie’s attempt to steal a statue of Khnum at the same the time, the sunset aspect of Ra from The Brooklyn Museum so they can learn the secrets of the Book of Ra and save the sun from being swallowed by Apophis in five days. Accompanying Sadie and Carter is Khufu, their baboon friend, and Jaz and Walt, two “trainees” of Carter and Sadie’s. However, as they attempt to steal the artifact, Sadie triggers a booby trap and something occurs.Sadie releases spirits,known as baus and they disrupt the wedding that is going on.They meet a griffon that Carter finds out he can control,because it is Horus.Jaz,uses the power of her patron goddess,Sekhmet,the goddess of plague & destruction,to contain the baus.She faints,and they fly out of the chaotic museum on the griffin,who Carter later names Freak[because it keeps saying Freeeeeeeeeeaaaaaak] 🙂 .On the way to the mansion,the 1st scroll of the Book Of Ra starts burning in Sadie’s hand,and gets glued to it.As they fly over the buildings,the fire falls on buildings,and the newspaper later states that the that the mysterious fire caused some people to have hallucinations,even making them see a big huge bird.They get to their mansion in Brooklyn,where Jaz is taken to the nursery.Sadie is shown to have some affection for Walt,and is jealous of him and Jaz,because they have been holding hands and talking.They meet the nex Sint morning.They talk about how they’ll defeat Ra,and Sadie insists on going to her granparent’s houses since it is her birthday.They learn that they have 4 days to stop Apophis from eating the Sun,and plunging the world into Chaos.Because in 4 days,the spring equinox will happen,which means that magic wil easily be tipped to Chaos or Ma’at.Since Bast has to leave them, they get a new guardian, Bes. They find the other scrolls and along the way, Carter finds Zia and we learn that one of their “trainees” Walt has a curse that was put on his family that makes him die at a young age. They find Ra, but he is still crazy, and the Chief Lector dies. Amos Kane becomes the new Chief Lector and Chaos was forced back into Daut, but will escape soon. Well I’m sorry thst I read through the book so soon on my nook but I’ll reread it later. 😉

this is going to be my 2nd blog today. i am going to do a change that has been going on in the book.
Hero is the main character in the story although there are lots of other very impotant people in this story. our class theme is good in this book bc change is pretty much the only thing tha happens in heros lfe or atleast a bunch of it. the most changes she has is the location she lives at , she has moved a lot in her life and most of the time the 1st days of school is really hard for her. hero has lots of body changes to like all of us do. growth spirts, growing hair and those sorts of things.but the reason that she is diffrent in the house that she lives in now is sworn to have a hidden dimond that is worth a million $’s and is from the late 1500’s!!! if i were hero, this would be a life changing moment in my childhood and an awesome adventuer that only Mrs. Roth, Danny Cordova,I, and only a few other people know about. but no body knows that hero might try to find it.
Hey, I am on The Young man and the Sea and I will be blogging on how Skiffy meets his worst enemy. Skiffy comes home from school to find the fishing boat and his worst enemy, Tyler Croft. He is one of the richest kids in Spinney Cove. His ddad owns the nicest blue tuna boat and Skiffy’s dad used to work for him. Skiffy doesn’t know why Tyler is so mean to him, but he thinks it is just because of him being richer, also the fact that Skiffy’s family is viewed as a swamper. When Skiffy is first spotted by Tyler, he rides up on his mountain bike and sings a jingle that he says whenever he sees him. It includes his mom being dead, being a swamper, his dad being a washed up drunk, and how he has no life(thats not mean at all*sarcasm*) Skiffy just becomes so mad that he has no idea what to say back. It seems like everything in his life has gone bad, including the boat that is curently sunk at the bottom of the creek. Tyler gets bord so he starts to yell and rides off on his fancy mountain bike.
There’s a band my brother’s been listening to called the Arctic Monkeys… But their name is way confusing… How can monkeys live in the arctic? Jeez..
You know.. some part of me is going to be really sad not doing journals.. But then the other part of me is.. EXTREMELY HAPPY!!! ….Not that I don’t love your journals.. But you know what I mean. By the way my last journal I did for 10 minutes so thats why I didn’t blog last night. So in my book… Heaven is for real.. The boy who died and went to heaven and then came back was only 3 years old. His dad is the one who wrote the book and it was a true story.. Right now I’m on the chapter where they talk about what was wrong with Colton (The little Boy) And how he got sick. One day they were out on a trip to Colorado and They were staying in a hotel.. Colton was really sick and throwing up.. So they took him to a Doc in a box who just told him that it was proabably a stomach bug. So they have him medicine and he got better than like a week later he got sick again to the point where he was throwing up every few minutes.. He couldnt sleep, or eat, or drink anything cause he was throwing up the whole time.. Its terrible.. So they took him the hospital and they found out what was wrong with him..

Tues.- So Nora is snooping in Marcie’s bedroom when Marcie’s dog (Boomer- he’s a Doberman pinscher) starts making a ruckus. So Nora has to climb out the window and stand on the side off the house like monkey. So Nora is stuck out there because Marcie locks the window.
Wed.- So Nora is standing on the side of the house when Patch walks out of the house and he takes out his cell and dials a number. And guess who’s number it is? Nora’s! So he sees her up there and he tells her to jump and she does. He catches her, like any good ex-boyfriend would that’s immortal.
Thurs.- So Patch communicates to Nora through her thoughts and he tells her he’s going rogue *sneaky* *giggles* The archangels are basically stalking him and Nora so she tells him no, because she doesn’t want him to go to hell, so she makes him go away… again…. and she walks home because she didn’t want Chinese takeout. I don’t blame her, Chinese food is gross. Especially the takeout kind 🙂

I am reading SCAT. So far in this book Bunny Scratch the biology teacher has gone missing. Two student sneak into her house to see if they can find her. While they are in there they hear someone else trying to get into the house. They both hide in the trunk and they see the principal walk in the door. They try their best to be quiet but it does’nt work and they get caught. The next day at school the principal calls them to the office and asks them why they were in her house they said they were looking for Bunny Scratch.

my last blog is going to be a theme of our class and that is change.
Hero Netherfield is a middle schooler around my age and she has a big sister named Beatrice but everyone calls her “Triss”her life is hard for her bc she is always being picked on and is always going to diffrent schools. i could only imagine if I was her. I do not know how she does it all. Her schools are always changing and she is always moving to diffrent houses.
Hey I am going to finish up my blogging with another addition of The Young Man and the Sea. I told you about Tyler and how he makes fun of Skifyy for no reason at all. Well once Skiffy is done being harrassed he walks over to the worst probblem that stands in his way. It is the boat, Rose, it sunk to the bottom of the dock and skiffy had to fix it in order for them to earn enough money. He knew to go into the house so he could tell his dad(like he would care). When Skiffy tells him the bad news he just nods at him and rolls over on his side. Right when Skiffy leaves the house, he hears his dad get up and get another beer. Skiffy’s last chance of survival is to meet with a man who first constructed this boat and made it so good. He was a legend on the island of Spinney Cove, and probally made half of the boats on it. Not only is he well known everywhere, Skiffy’s dad used to work for him when he was Skiffy’s age.
So…. I am sorry to say Mr. Mayfield.. This will be my last blog for the year.. I know you probably want to cry..(: I dont blame you. I would like to see you cry sometime.. I bet it would be funny. On the last day of school you must try and find some way to hurt yourself that way we can see you cry.. I think it would be funny. ^_^ So anyways.. I have to blog now.. I bet you’re thinking that since this is my last blog that I will make it really long and that I will just keep talking and talking and talking.. But I dont know if I will or not.
So my blog.. About Heaven is for real.. I REALLY Love this book. Its got a lot of bible stories included in it and I’m learning a lot. Its really cool. It has a lot of references about the book of Revelation in it. I like the way the author has written about it.. Because when I have read Revelation myself in the past.. Its really hard.. I think its hard for people to teach too. So anyways.. I’m gonna start from when Colton has gotten out of the hospital.. His heart stopped but they didnt actually say he was dead.. But he went to heaven. So soon the mother and father start talking about Heaven and they are trying to get Colton to talk about it. They ask him what Jesus looked like and he said he had long hair. Then the comment after that was that he had beautiful eyes. Then their whole family was watching the movie The Lion the Whitch and the Wardrobe.. Colton’s mom looked at him and said good thing there aren’t swords in heaven.. Then Colton got all serious and told them that there were swords in heaven. That The angels had to have them to get Satan out. To make sure he was out of Heaven.. Then his parents asked Colton if he had seen Satan.. Colton got all serious and started crying and he would never tell his parents what he looked like.
Well That was a pretty long blog.. I guess. Maybe..

i have been reading the book, taken. its about a girl who is kidnapped by a group of mexican paramedics. She flashes back many times to happy times. she even had classes back in her school about kidnapping because there were so many. she lived in the safest neighborhood in the usa and still got napped as she would call it.

Dear the girl in the story,
As always i put myself in your position and talk. If i were you i wouldnt care if i got shot leaving the ambulance. You knw that they probably wont do anything because if they do the deal will be off and they dont get money. also, how many people can an ambulance hold five or six. there’s not that many so i would atleast make a break for it. if they shoot you, they shoot you. theyre not going to make you suffer so it will either be a one shot one kill or they just dont shoot at all. boo yah. i may have just saved the day for you. but theres still a whole lot of reading to be done so i will soon find out if you follow my advice.
Wednesday
i think that the reasoning of this book was to tell the reader to always be prepared. dont go into anyones car if you dont know them. if an ambulance comes make sure that your mom, dad, or guardian goes with you. make sure to check the ambulance’s personel license. remember to alwyas be prepared and never ever go into an ambulance. tell the driver that you want to ride with your parent. also, if an ambulance comes to your house for no reason and says that they got a phone call that the girl is sick, this is for you parents, dont let em go.

i think that this book compares pretty well to the movie taken. who knows if they made the book or movie about one or the other. they both have basically the same plot. plot is the things that happen in a story. i saw the movie and the girl is kidnapped at the beginning. its the same for the book. but the story in the movie is told from the dad and the book is told from the girl. in the book the girls dad is hardly ever home but in movie the dad takes action and saves the girl. the thing the story is about is being kidnapped and they both have that in common.
