so i likely would’ve spent my time last week writing away BUT… i got a call from the library and got three books i’d requested – so it turned into a reading week instead of a writing one…
“american saint” – was actually in the paper yesterday – samford u gave it an award for its awesomeness – it was a good book about asbury – the founder of methodists in the united states – learned quite a bit about the role of methodism in early america – which i had previously known nothing of – asbury was likable as a late 18th century person as well
“a class apart” – should be familiar to you that read a chapter from it on friday – great, great book about a gifted high school in new york – i guess what i particularly liked was that the school isn’t a stickler for rules, and the kids excel (sometimes i forget that rules aren’t super important and not ends to themselves – i know, shocker…)
“an honorable run” – by matt mccue – one of the better books i’ve read this year – matt wrote about his high school and college cross country coaches – and the book was so good that i read it in a day – lots about running – moreover, a good book about what’s important in life and who’s important
nanowrimo does continue to roll along – i didn’t take a book to the bama game yesterday evening (if you were paying attention, you’d know that i finished the book – honorable run – before i got to the stadium) so i sat and brainstormed ways to take my story this week – and watched bama’s offense come to life – occasionally…

Ok, So I have started reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins it is a good book and is the second book in the Hunger Games series. Katniss and Peeta have won the Hunger games and just want some peace. Since they won they have moved into the houses for the winners of the Hunger games and Katniss is living with her mom and sister. She misses her friend Gale who has gone off to live in the coal mines. And rarely ever talks to her. Then one day the president of the capitol comes and talks to Katniss about how people are starting to have a rebellion because Katniss And Peeta were going to kill themselves with the poison berries. So the president is mad and says that now Katniss really has to act like she is in love with peeta. Peeta and Katniss now have to get ready for the Hunger games tour. Katniss’ stylist comes and they make Katniss all pretty and girly then katniss and peeta get ready for the hunger games tour. I stopped there.

the book i am reading is called HAPPY BIRTHDAY,MOLLY! i am going to do a character story. Well, i bet you all know who its going to be. its Molly. As i read the first chapter or so i noticed that she is a dreamer. also, a war is going on in England. it is very dangerous in England, so a girl named Emiy is going to stay with molly and her family until her aunt is better b/c she has pnumonia and Emily was supposed to stay with her. every-time Molly tries to talk to Emily she is very quiet. emily is also very shy.Molly and her 2 friends watched a movie about bomb shelters in england and they decided to build a (pretend) bomb shelter in the basement. her brother Ricky also sort-of plays along too like real bombs are crashing down on their shelter.
Have you ever been accused of murdering your father? Alice has. This is an awesome, exciting story that you can’t put down. I just finished it today. If I changed the ending, Alice would have gotten hurt by ‘Rick’ before the police stepped in, Alice’s mother would not have been at the airport, but trapped in the basment. Then, she would have escaped when the Blazer ran into the garage door. She would have called the police, not Kelsey. I like the events in the book.
Intro- Alice gets call from dad.
Rising ActionS- Murderer enters condo; Alice hides in mall; Alice stays at uiveresity; Alice goes back to condo.
Top- Alice finds out name of murderer & goes to find her mom.
Falling action- The police find Alice trapped at ‘Rick’s’ house.
Conclution- Alice goes home to her mom.
Hello again mr. mayfield. I am once again blogging because I’m a bit under my limit for nanowrimo. But I have been writing tonight. A LOT!!!!!!!!!! So tonight I’m going to blog for 5 minutes.
Now where was i? Oh yes. Harry ran away and everything and he is now wandering through the woods. Doesn’t really know what he wants or what he is doing apparently. So then he bumps into this tiger-big massive scary tiger! roar!!!!- and the tiger says, “hey watch where you’re going!” Harry knew that he was now going insane just like his stepmother. He had to act fast before the tiger would “eat” him. So he turns the other way and just starts running for his life. Like that’s smart. Then the tiger tackles him and then says, “It’s okay. I’m a good tiger, I won’t hurt you.” Weird!!!!!!
Well that was 5 minutes. Don’t worry though Mr. maf, I am going to keep typing and typing and typing until I am satisfied. Bye

Ok I’m reading Hope Was Here And I’m Going to do authors purpose . she (hope) Is Been Basicly Taken from her mom and she lives with her aunt now it’s Been a long road for her and she’s been moving for must of her life Right now In the book She’s a Waitress In a restraunt . Again she’s having to move because of bills and rent being 2 High On money. i would think the authors purpose is to Say Hold Your chin up No Matter what.

I am SOOOO Happy. Other people have been blogging too. Now I dont feel so bad about not doing nanowrimo. I am still trying but I cant think of anything yet and I am angry because I wrote 2,000 words on Sunday and I didnt think to save it every few minutes and the power went out so I lost 2,000 words. I think it was a sign that what I had written wasn’t very good. So after thinking about it for a long time I realized that what I had wasnt very good at all. So the little bit that I lost didnt really bother me. I didnt write at all yesterday so I am gonna write for ten minutes.
I think I left off with me writing about Catching Fire. I am not exactly sure where I left off talking about the book but I will just start where I think I left off. Katniss is kind of freaked out about the president coming to her house and telling her all sorts of crazy stuff and now she has to act like she is in love with Peeta too. You can’t make somebody love someone. Come on the president should know that. DUH! Well Katniss and Peeta are on a train getting ready for the Hunger Games’ tour where they are praised by a ton of people who secretly hate them. I mean they killed the people from their district. I would hate them too. (Just sayin’) Katniss has only told Haymitch about the president coming to her house and talking to her. She wants to tell Peeta but she knows she cant. I think she should tell him but Umm. I didnt write the book. Katniss is sitting down eating breakfast with Effie. (Weird name huh?) Then somebody tells Effie that something has gone wrong with the train and that it will take an hour to fix. Effie goes Balistic (like Mr. Mayfield does sometimes) and she starts talking about how they are going to be late getting to the district and she talks about how everything is all messed up now. Katniss has a fit too and she yells something along the lines of NOBODY CARES. Then Katniss storms out of the room. She has fits a lot. Katniss is a very stressed out person. I read a little further where Peeta and Katniss decide to start talking to each other again And then they get all pretty again. Then they are at the district. That is where I stopped and hopefully I will be able to write more tomorrow.
That is all I have for now. 😉 I am overly hyper right now (Sometimes like Mr. Mayfield) It is weird. I keep wanting to blog but I know I cant since I didnt read any further in the book. I think I am mainly excited because the author of that book you read commented on the blog. It is so COOL!!!!!! Mr. Mayfield maybe he can get you famous. You are a good writer too. I think you should write a book about all the times you have tormented in your class. That will definitely be a book worth buying.

hey mr. Mayfield im going to blog for ten minutes. I am doin a authors purpose on the book The Monsters of Morley Mannor. I think the author included this because i learned this wasnt the complete truth because he may have been lied to alot in his childhood. He also said that he let the car pass maybe he was thinking of a childhood memory that he had almost got ran over or his friend almost got ran over. He said he let the car pass as it splashed up water i think he said this becaus ehe was riding in the car and saw that the water sprayed from the puddle below. He said he got a stone called the heart of zentarazna may be he said this because he used to play and he thought of crazy names like i did when i was young. He included that Sarah stepped in a deep puddle like my younger sister does and my dad yells get out of that puddle. He must be very interested in mysterys because the books their offering him are leading to mysterous paths.
hey! I’m gonna have to blog a lot tonight& Thursday, because haven’t blogged until today. okay, I’m going to do author’s purpose on the last Pendragon book again tonight, but a lot better this time! There are many kinds of author’s purpose in this book, but I think most of the authors purpose is to #1entertain, and #2 to wrap up the series. Why? #1 this book is almost completely fiction, so most of it would be for entertainment #2 this is (of course) the last book in the series, and this book has a lot of mysteries that aren’t solved until this point in the series. such as where the flumes and saint Dane came from. alright this week i have been reading the book “the house of the scorpions.” whic h so far has turned out to be a pretty good book and right now the main thing that is going on is that matt is a clone that is why dedoes not got to school or anything like that. because people would know the real matt and the they would find out that he is a clone and tha would probably be pretty bad because if i were to find out tha one of my friends was a clone then i would probably form mob or do something like that.and it probably would not turn out very well so its best that the clones stay at there own home and do not come to school oh wait wouldnt that be bulling oh no!!!anyways this clone matt was trapped ni a pin until he was 5 and then thiks elderly dude rescued him and then he lived out there in this shack until now. which is not a very good childhood anyways now the dude that rescued him is now one-hundred and forty-three years old is not taking care of him any more and he just now saw him for the first time in a long time which i think had to be a pretty awsome moment for him too see the person that saved him from a miserable life alright well i guess that is all I have for today so i guess I will see you tommorrow sssseeeeeeeee yyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaa
I have been reading the book, taken. its about a girl who is kidnapped by a group of mexican paramedics. She flashes back many times to happy times. she even had classes back in her school about kidnapping because there were so many. she lived in the safest neighborhood in the usa and still got napped as she would call it.
Dear taken girl(your name is never mentioned),
As always i put myself in your position and talk. If i were you i wouldnt care if i got shot leaving the ambulance. You knw that they probably wont do anything because if they do the deal will be off and they dont get money. also, how many people can an ambulance hold five or six. there’s not that many so i would atleast make a break for it. if they shoot you, they shoot you. theyre not going to make you suffer so it will either be a one shot one kill or they just dont shoot at all. boo yah. i may have just saved the day for you. but theres still a whole lot of reading to be done so i will soon find out if you follow my advice.
i think that the reasoning of this book was to tell the reader to always be prepared. dont go into anyones car if you dont know them. if an ambulance comes make sure that your mom, dad, or guardian goes with you. make sure to check the ambulance’s personel license. remember to alwyas be prepared and never ever go into an ambulance. tell the driver that you want to ride with your parent. also, if an ambulance comes to your house for no reason and says that they got a phone call that the girl is sick, this is for you parents, dont let em go.
i think that this book compares pretty well to the movie taken. who knows if they made the book or movie about one or the other. they both have basically the same plot. plot is the things that happen in a story. i saw the movie and the girl is kidnapped at the beginning. its the same for the book. but the story in the movie is told from the dad and the book is told from the girl. in the book the girls dad is hardly ever home but in movie the dad takes action and saves the girl. the thing the story is about is being kidnapped and they both have that in common.
It is so good to see other people’s blogs. It makes me happy. Lucky for me I only have to blog for five minutes tonight. (: This is good.
I left off with Katniss and Peeta arriving at district 11. They are all pretty now and they get ready to talk about the Hunger Games and then they eat lots and lots of food. Katniss is having a hard time because in the first book she teamed up with a girl named Rue who helped keep her alive but who sadly died during the hunger games. There was also a guy from this district who Katniss admired because he spared Katniss’ life. She gets up on the stage with Peeta and she lets Peeta do all the talking. Then that is over and Katniss looks over at the family of Rue and they are staring at her like they are mad or dissapointed. Then Katniss feels bad and she grabs the mic and starts talking about Rue and how she loved her and then all the people from that district start clapping and they all love her. Then Katniss freaks out because this is exactly what the president said not to do and now she is scared.

I’m still reading Eclipse by Stephanie Meyers and It has gotten to be a really good book so far. It’s to the piont where Bella and Edward are discussing college again and Bella is beginning to want to go to Jacob Black’s house.In ways it’s getting sorta confusing because it’ll go from Bella and Edward’s conversation to Bella’s thoughts, which throws me off track and I have to re-read the stanza. Well, my time is VERY limited, and it’s been ten minutes for me, but maybe only seem like five minutes to you….

Hey! I will blog for 10 mins. today. I just finished *Olve’s Ocean*. An alternate ending for that book would be that Jimmy wouldn’t have used Martha and that Olive’s mother would have not moved, but was packing to move. Ya see, Martha took some sea water from her Gobee’s house, and was going to give it to Olive’s mother, scence Olive had never gotten to go to the ocean. But her mother had moved by the time Martha arrived home with the gift. If I had it my way, Ms.Olive wouldn’t have left yet, but was about to. So, Jimmy, a boy who lives near Godbee, used martha, he made a bet that she would kiss him, on film. So, he pertended to like her, kissed her, and then explained, ‘I made a bet.’ Yeah, not what a girl wants to hear after her first kiss. I like this book alot, again, it’s called, *Olive’s Ocean*, try reading it. It may seem somewhat random though. It isn’t based on just 1 thing, but alot of things. It’s lat, PEACE OUT!!! Matti♥☺☻1538

I am reading Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper for B.O.B. and in the beginning there is this girl named Melody who has a disability called cerebral palsy and she says in the book that it ‘limits my body but mot my mind’ She really just explains and gives background information on her life. She says that her parents both like music but they have their respective genres. Her dad, Chuck likes jazz and her mom likes classical.
Tuesday-
Melody is taken to a doctor who’s job it is to find out how smart Melody is. The doctor’s name is Doctor Hugely and he is very huge. He gives her blocks and other stuff and tells her to stack them according to size. He doesn’t realize that she can’t stack the blocks or really move the cubes. She is extremely smart but no one realizes it because she can’t tell anyone and she looks like she wouldn’t be very smart on the out side. There is one person who knows she has a lot of smarts and that is her neighbor, Ms. V.
Wednesday-
Ms. V. is an eccentric woman who wears long flowing dresses that are very colorful. She used to work at the hospital with Melody’s mom and is very tough on Melody. Ms. V. teaches Melody that she can roll over the very first day that Melody comes to Ms. V’s house. Ms. V. gives Melody more and more words that she is capable of showing other people to faintly tell them what she wants. Ms. V. treats Melody like a special mission that nobody knows about until she reveals the secret.
Thursday-
Melody’s mom enrolls her in Spaulding Street Elementary School. Melody is picked up every day outside her house on the “special needs” bus. She is put in room H-5. They call this room a “learning community” and they never change rooms. They only change a teacher. Melody says some teachers are good and think they have some since and others think the students are complete idiots that have zero brains whatsoever. They have a tradition of decorating a Styrofoam snowman every year at Christmas and everyone in the class except for one girl dislike the snowman. The beginning of Out of My Mind.

i have decided to journal this week and give up nanowrimo. i was just blah blah blahing about absolutely nothing. I guess im not ment to write a book. well any ways im reading seabiscuit. so here are my blogs. and i will also turn in a dialectal journal tomorrow as well.
comparing characters
I think that seabiscuit and pollard, seabiscuit’s rider, are deserving of being compared. One thing that they have in common is that they both are racers, not just any kind of racers, horse racers. Another thing that they have in common is that both of them have been through injuries in the past that has disabled them for a while. Also, the fact that both were at once thought to be nothing or nothing anymore, but, as in all good stories, they come back together and won. That is all i have to compare between them
i think that authors purpose wof this chapter that i have been reading is to keep on trying if you fail. Look at smith; trying to give seabiscuit a friend, he put a goat in with him. well, the goat got kicked over the gait thingy. Well he puts a lead horse in there that immediately becomes seabiscuit’s friend. Maybe it compares to that movie with the zebra who races and becomes friends with that little horse. Well anyways smith didnt have to try all to much but he didnt give up and he eventually succeeded.
