Types of Volcanoes & Lava

Students continued to take notes and discuss the information on Volcanoes.  Today, we specifically talked about the term viscosity and how it relates to lava, the two major types of lava and how they differ.  Then, we compared a volcano to a soft drink and it's bottle.   The gases that are dissolved in lava and types of lava from the eruptions was also mentioned.  We concluded class by discussing the 3 major shapes of volcanoes and how they acquire those shapes.
