Students completed the Mountain Building Crossword Puzzle, and then the Chapter Assessment and took the Vocabulary Test in class.  They will take the Mountain Building Chapter Test on tomorrow.

2nd Period

Students reviewed the key concepts since we have not been in class 2 days.  Then, they completed the Mountain Building Poptest with their book and the Crossword Puzzle.  They will take the Mountain Building Voc. Test tomorrow.

in 5th period.

We completed discussion of the notes on Mountain Building and gave the Crossword Puzzle and began the Chapter Assessment (50pts)

4/20/05 (Monday)

Underclassmen took the PRIDE SURVEY during class as the seniors worked on the Mountain Building Crossword Puzzle (64 pts).  Notes and discussion resumed after the survey was completed.

4/17/15 (Friday)

Students were allowed to compare and contrast notes from the PowerPoint.  Afterwards, the discussion revolved around different types of Mountains and the types of convergence/divergence that cause a specific type of Mountain to be formed.

4/16/15 (Thursday)

Students continued to read and summarize the key concepts in Mountain Building from Sec. 2.

Students were able to discuss and take notes on the concepts on Mountain Building.  A poptest was given at the end of the class to verify understanding of the concepts.

We allowed students to read and summarize the rest of Sec. 1 from the Mountain Building .  After reading and summarizing students had a poptest, then we compared their notes with the PowerPoint.

We began taking notes along with discussions about the factors that determine stress and strain in mountain formation.  Deformation and the factors that determine rock strength were explained.

Students were taught to read and summarize the key concepts in Mountain Building.  They completed the Mountain Building Review Questions (60 pts) in class.

Students completed the "Mountain Building" Vocabulary (54 pts).

Students completed the Volcanoes Research and typed up their results into a presentation.  Hopefully students learned how destructive volcanoes can be to humans and the environment.

Students completed the "Volcanoes" Research (70 pts) in the computer lab.  They were to research given items in the Computer Lab using the internet to find out information on Seven Famous Volcanoes and their eruptions.  After finishing the assignment, they began the vocabulary on the next Chapter, "Mountains". (54 pts)
