We went over the answers to the Chapter Assessment, took the Weathering, Soil, and Mass Movements Vocabulary Test, reviewed its answers and then took the Chapter Test.
We continued the notes on the types of mass movements and their effects on the earth.
Today we continued the notes on the Mass Movements and Erosion in the current chapter. Notes were taken and discussed from the Powerpoint presentations.
Today, students worked on a study guide for Sections 5.2 and 5.3 in class.
We continued the discussions on the 3 types of soil and where they were located. We ended class with a review of the ways in which erosion shape our surface on earth.
Today, we talked about the different types of soil and began a drawing on the layers in a soil profile.
Students learned the composition, structure and texture of soil. Notes were taken to identify the main components of soil makeup. Colored pencils/markers are needed for a drawing tomorrow in class.
Today, we discussed the causes of Weathering and how temperature, climate and water influence weathering.
We discussed the three ways that mechanical weathering takes place and the chemical weathering that changes the rocks.
Students outlined Sec. 5.1 and 5.2 in preparation for a poptest on the outlining skills on Monday.
