Rock Cycle, Metamorphic Rocks
Students took notes on the final section of rocks, Metamorphic Rocks and finished the Rock Cycle Drawing. They were also reminded of the 1st Qtr Exam on Thursday and told to pick up a Review Guide for the Test.

Notes on Sedimentary rocks and how they are classified were taken. Students were reminded to bring colored pencils or markers to class tomorrow.

We discussed the characteristics of Sedimentary rocks and how they compare with the Igneous Rocks. Students were told to have colored pencils or markers for class tomorrow.

Students had a poptest on Rocks first. Then we continued the notes on Igneous Rocks learning the 4 types of texture and 2 types of composition as well as examples of extrusive and intrusive igneous rocks. They were shown examples of both types of rocks.

Today, students took notes on the Rocks Chapter. They learned the 3 major types of rocks and how they are formed. They also saw how the rock cycle creates and changes rocks. We finished talking about the 2 types of igneous rocks.

We worked on and completed the Rocks Review Questions in class today. Students were informed that when homework was done it was due before 8th period on the same day unless they attend the SOT, have band, football or other activity 7th. Their papers would be due before 7:40 the next morning.

Students got their Minerals Test back and completed their Rock Vocabulary in Class.

Today, we took the Minerals Chapter Test after going over the answers to the Chapter Assessment. Students were advised to visit the internet website for the Chapter Test Review. Some questions from the Review on the internet may appear on the Test. Then, they began the Rocks Vocabulary.

Students took the Minerals Voc. Test today and completed the Minerals Chapter Assessment as well as finishing the Minerals Review Questions and Crossword Puzzle for homework.
