Students drew the picture of the parts of the Earth's Interior from P. 234-235 in their book. They were told how large to draw the picture and to be sure NOT to Trace the picture from their book. They are expected to draw the picture larger than the picture in their books. They also completed Aim 2 from a workbook to emphasize the parts of the interior of the Earth. The "Earthquakes and Earth's Interior" Voc. Test will be Thursday and the Chapter Test on Friday.

Today, we completed the notes on Earthquakes, long & short term predictions and began talking about the layers of the earth. We mentioned the Earth's layers by composition and physical traits and then discussed how we know the layers makeup. Also, they were reminded to have their colored pencils for class tomorrow for the assignment.

We continued the notes on "Earthquakes & Earth's Interior" from the PowerPoint. We discussed the difference in aftershock/foreshock, elastic energy theory, and seismology. Students were reminded to have their colored pencils daily.

We had a quick poptest/preview test to see what they knew about earthquakes. Some thought they knew a lot, but knew very little about earthquakes. Afterwards, they worked on the "Earthquakes and Earth's Interior" Review Questions (60 pts). Several students did not take advantage of the time they were given in class. The worksheet is due on tomorrow.
