Mr. Joshua Britnell has been named as the new assistant principal for Chelsea High School. For the past eight years, he has worked in the Homewood City School System. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Birmingham Southern College, his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently working towards his Ed.S in Instructional Leadership at the University of West Alabama.
Linda Campanotta will be the new principal at Valley Elementary School. Ms. Campanotta has over 25 years experience in education. She most recently served as the Professional Development Coordinator for the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS). She also previously served as assistant principal at Edgewood Elementary in Homewood and as the principal at Green Valley Elementary in Hoover. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and an Ed.S. Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently completing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University.
Dr. Wesley Hester will be the new principal at Montevallo High School. Dr. Hester has a total of 11 years as an educator. He taught multiple grade levels and subject areas for six years, including sixth grade Reading, Science and Social Studies. In five years as an administrator, he has been employed with the Shelby County Schools as an assistant principal at Columbiana Middle and as a principal at the Thompson Sixth Grade Center. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University and holds a M.A. and Ed.S. in Educational Administration from the University of North Alabama. He recently earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama.
