Maegan Vick, counselor at Helena Elementary School, has been named Elementary Counselor of the Year by the Alabama School Counselor Assocation. Ms. Vick received the prestigious award at the 2013 ALCA Annual Conference Awards Luncheon, held November 21 at Birmingham Sheraton.
“I am so thankful I have the privilege of being a counselor in the Shelby County School System,” said Vick. “All the counselors in Shelby County work diligently to meet the needs of others on a daily basis, and we are happy to do so. To be recognized by the Alabama School Counselor Association as the Elementary School Counselor of the Year is an honor. However, I feel all our counselors are deserving of this title!”
Principal Mary Cooper said Vick is an amazing school counselor who deserves the statewide recognition.
“I am so proud of her! She is incredibly deserving of this award,” said Ms. Cooper.
It was a pleasure meeting all of you at the meeting with Meg Smith and Dr. Cleveland Monday, April 27th. I hope to be working with all of you this upcoming school year. I do not get the opportunity to collaborate with other counselors. Have a blessed weekend!
Kind regards,
Rhonda Gibbs
