The Shelby County Board of Education approved Brent Copes as the Transportation Supervisor at a specially called Board meeting on Tuesday. Copes, who most recently served as principal at Calera Intermediate School, will replace Rick Vines. Vines was recently promoted to Transportation Coordinator, replacing Kevin Snowden who is leaving Shelby County to take the position of Transportation Director for the State Department of Education.
Mr. Copes has 15 years of experience as an educator and has been a school administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He also has previous experience as a bus driver.
