Shelby County Board of Education Approves Personnel for Key Positions

The Shelby County Board of Education approved personnel for several key positions at their meeting September 4.

Michelle HallMichelle Hall was approved as the new Supervisor for Library Media and Fine Arts. Ms. Hall has 20 years experience in education and was most recently serving as the Program Specialist for Middle School. Prior to her role as Program Specialist, she served as the Gifted Education Lead Teacher for Shelby County Schools.  Ms. Hall received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Presbyterian College and her Master’s degree from the University of Alabama

Brent TolbertBrent Tolbert was named Supervisor of Academic Data Collection, Data Management, Accountability, and Testing. Mr. Tolbert has 20 years experience in education.  He was most recently serving as principal at Calera Middle School. Prior to serving at Calera Middle, Tolbert was principal of the Thompson Sixth Grade Center.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Alabama. He earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Montevallo.

Julie GodfreyJulie Godfrey was approved as the School to Career Resource Specialist. Ms. Godfrey has over 16 years of experience in education. She was most recently the business teacher at Oak Mountain High School. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and her Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

 

Michael JonesMichael Jones was approved as the new Assistant Principal at Calera High School. Mr. Jones has seven years experience in education and was most recently the administrative assistant at Calera High School and the College and Career Center. Mr. Jones obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s degree in Collaborative Education from the University of Alabama, and a Master’s degree in Instructional Leadership and an Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
