Eighth-grade students from Columbiana Middle School participated in Mock Interviews on Friday, October 2. The students are participating in a Family and Consumer Sciences class and were participating in an Exploring Career Pathways unit that focused on job seeking skills, steps for an effective job search, appearance for an interview, and interviewing etiquette skills. The event is held each year to help students become more knowledgeable about different careers and to gain the confidence needed to interview for jobs.
The students came dressed in business attire with resumes and job applications in hand. Columbiana Middle School teachers, administrators, and Central Office personnel conducted the interviews.
As the students interviewed, the interviewers graded them on their interviews skills, knowledge of intended career, interview attire, and attitude. Two students, Ceaira Stockdale and Ty’Quarius Peterson, were both recognized for outstanding interviews.
