Senator Jabo Waggoner visited Oak Mountain Elementary on November 20^th to present a financial gift to be used for educational purposes within the school.  During his visit, Senator Waggoner was entertained by part of the third-grade choir as they performed a few songs from their recent Veteran’s Day program.  He was escorted by two student leaders who guided him through the school as they explained some of the great things happening in the school, particularly related to The Leader in Me.  The students also guided Senator Waggoner to the lunchroom where the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast was underway.

“It was a wonderful experience to have him visit,” said Rebekah Austin, Gifted Specialist at OMES. “The school and community are very appreciative of Senator Waggoner’s support and leadership.”
