Students from the Shelby County College and Career Center competed in the State Skills USA competition held at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center April 19-21. The SCCCC has a tradition of excellence at state SkillsUSA competition and this year was no different, with several students winning and placing in their event categories. All first place winners are now eligible for Skills USA National Competition, which will be held in June in Louisville, KY.

In addition to the state SkillsUSA competition, two students from the SCCCC also recently competed at the state HOSA conference. Madison Andrews (CAHS) and Brooke Denson (VHS) placed 3rd in the First Aid competition and are eligible for National HOSA Competition in Nashville, TN in June.
