Genet Holcomb will serve as the new principal at Calera Elementary School after being approved for the position by the Shelby County Board of Education on June 30. Mrs. Holcomb has over 23 years of experience in public education and is currently the Assistant Principal at Helena Intermediate School.  She also previously served as Assistant Principal at Inverness Elementary.   She has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo.  Mrs. Holcomb also received a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and an Educational Specialist Degree from Samford University.
