The Shelby County Board of Education approved several new administrators during its June 25 meeting.
Christopher Myles was approved as the new principal for the Calera High School. Myles has over nine years of experience in public education and most recently served assistant principal at Helena Middle School. He also worked previously as teacher and coach at Thompson High School. Myles has a bachelor degree in History from Faulkner University and a master’s degree and an Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
Henry Long was approved as the new assistant principal at Helena Middle School. Long has over seven years of experience in public education and most recently served as the administrative assistant at Chelsea High School. Long earned a bachelor’s degree in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He also holds a master’s degree in Secondary Science Education and Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
Cheryl Allen Kristen Glover
Cheryl Allen was approved as the new assistant principal for Montevallo High School. Allen has over 20 years of experience in public education and most recently served as the guidance counselor for Montevallo High School. Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in Art Education, a master’s degree in School Counseling, and an Instructional Leadership certification from the University of Montevallo. She also holds an Ed.S in Counselor Education from the University of Alabama.
Kristen Glover was approved as the assistant principal of Oak Mountain Intermediate School. Glover has over eight years of experience in education and most recently served as an instructional coach for Shelby County Schools. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education as well as her master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also earned certification in Educational Leadership from the University of West Alabama.
