David Butts will serve as the principal for New Direction after being approved by the Shelby County Board of Education at the October 20 board meeting. Mr. Butts has over 22 years of experience in public education and currently serves as the assistant principal at Helena High School. 

Mr. Butts earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of West Alabama.
