Community Education is offering an adult welding course at the Shelby County College and Career Center starting September 15 and continuing through November 5. This class is open to beginners and to those who have taken classes and would like more advanced training. Choose to learn Oxy fuel cutting and Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Oxy fuel cutting and Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG or wire welding). The instructor for the course will be Lynn Miller, welding instructor for the Shelby County College and Career Center.
Students must be 18 years or older. Students are asked to wear long sleeved shirts/jackets and work boots to class.
A total of 16 classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (September 5 – November 5). Registration forms for the class are available online at: http://www.shelbyed.k12.al.us/community/doclibrary/RegForm_2.pdf.
The cost for the class is $280.00 payable to Community Education and a $100.00 supply fee payable to the Shelby County College and Career Center. Mail registration form, along with checks or money orders, to Community Education at 601 1st Street South, Alabaster, AL 35007.
