The Shelby County College and Career Center is hosting a Career Expo on November 19 from 5:30-7:00 pm. All parents and students from high schools within the Shelby County School District are invited to attend the event, which will highlight the various career technical programs at the CCC as well as feature industry and post-secondary stakeholders.
“Our goal is to provide an awareness of the significance of our programs and the successful pathways to industry and post-secondary opportunities after graduation,” said Principal Russ Cofield. “We want to help and parents and students make connections to their future and we want them to know about us and what we do for students”
Principals and staff members from the various high schools are also invited to attend. School officials will also be showcasing several new facility upgrades a the school, including an expanded kitchen and new cafe for Culinary Arts; a new salon and equipment for Cosmetology; new equipment in Robotics and Automated Manufacturing; and a new healthcare lab and ALS simulator mannequin in Healthcare Science.
The school will provide free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks to visitors attending the event.
