In honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month, Shelby County Schools will host the 2nd annual Donuts and Dyslexia event on Tuesday, October 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The event will take place at Shelby County Instructional Services Center (601 1st St S Alabaster, AL) and is open to anyone in the community who is interested in learning about the overview of dyslexia, a parent advisory council update, and a personal perspective on dyslexia.

One in five individuals has dyslexia. In order to bring awareness to those with reading disabilities, Shelby County is taking part in the recognition of dyslexia to inform staff, families, and the community about dyslexia and provide support to those students who deal with this on a daily basis.
