The Shelby County Board of Education approved two new assistant principals and the revised 2020-2021 calendar during a July 7 board meeting.
Jeremy Reed was approved as a new system assistant principal based at Montevallo High School. Reed has over six years of experience in public education and most recently served as the administrative assistant at Helena High School.
Reed earned a bachelorās degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, a masterās degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Instructional Leadership masterās certification from the University of West Alabama.
Jessica Adams was approved as the new assistant principal at Chelsea Park Elementary. Adams has over eight years of experience in public education and most recently served as the administrative assistant at Chelsea Park Elementary.
Adams earned a bachelorās degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and a masterās degree in Counseling and Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama.
In addition to the administrative personnel actions, the board also approved a revised calendar for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year with a new start date of August 13.
