as for last week’s reading, i read several things – at least five things all the way through (if we’re counting news articles that are a paragraph long:)
hungry – by crystal renn – awesome book – read it all in a day – friday was that day – story of a model who became anorexic to become a model – and then gained weight to become a supermodel – if it were in my world, all little girls should read the book – or at least parts of it – b/c there’s a good message in there about being happy with who you are – and figuring out just who that is
gave one book up after 100 pages from the library – won’t name it, but it wasn’t good at all
magazine reading-wise – i read a story about the colt’s owner (son to the old owner – and not much like his dad), men who take anti-aging drugs (no, not me – don’t have the money for the $10,000 a year it takes – also, not that interested), and how things are in europe (mostly, cold)
started rereading a book on running – in addition to my work on the old testament (got through isaiah and jeremiah last week – long, long books – working on ezekiel right now)
suppose that’s mostly it for now – happy reading this week

I am still reading Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty. I’m going extremely slow. So……… they started walking the other way to find the mysterious white thing which Gozo is now convinced he didnt even see. Of course he’s got to go pee. He comes back without his pack on his back, they ask him where it is, he says”I left it on a wall.” Not realizing what he just sayed the explorers look at him with big meyes with excitement. When the thought finally got through his head they ran to this wall to find a small concrete house with the roof almost compltely taken off. If they would’ve walked past it earlier they probally wouldn’t have seen it, it was so covered in leaves and vines. Jacques chopped his way through the vines to the fallen over entrance that was supposed to be there. Inside there were no symbols or marks, there were just perfectly cut bricks layed out into a nice house. They figured there would have to be more so they looked for the largest tree around to skim up and find more white roofed buildings. The largest tree was growing right out of the middle of the house. It went up and up.
ok maf….. im gettin a head start on journals for the week….. yeah n e wayz as usual im still reading mi book the vampire diaries the return and the nightfall volume 1. so im at the part now where damon is tormenting elena and matt but it’s actually not damon or so elena thinks. she thinks that the malach have completely taken over his entire body and r completely turninghim into a monster. as u proly wouldve already guessed, damon is a strong vampire and the malach taking over him would be very bad and pure evil especially since it’s in Fells Church. Fells Church has ley lines that r like portals to the underworld that can be easily opened. elena matt meredith and bonnie as well as stefan had thought that caroline had already opened that portal that she had already called on the demons of well down there. well stefan is not there n e more b/c he was taken to this so called island named Shi no Shi which translated means Death of Death. It’s where vampires can go and be turned into humans again and not have to be a vampire n e more. well the island is a trick for stefan and he didnt know it so now he’s locked up somewhere and could die at any given moment. (and yes i read ahead in the book) so in mi opinion this book compares to twilight even though i dont like tht series now. everything is kinda the same. in twilight edward leaves bella but he does it on his own free will but stefan is forced to but doesnt kno it until the very last second. another thing about both series is that someone is always trying to kill the main character(s). james and victoria and the vampire council thingy is tryin to kill bella and edward. and damon katherine klaus and n e other dark creature thingy is always tryin to kill stefan and/or bella. they r very similar books in many wayz. n e wayz bye maf!!!!!!!
Monday:dialectical journals-Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
*fact: Narrated by John, who joined the army to get away from his father and straighten out his life
*Opinion: John i think joins the army just to get away from his father not really wanting to go, then again who really wants to join the army.I don’t think he gave it much thought i think he was just looking for a quick way to get out, or get away from his father.But once he does get there he sort of gets a feel of if he’ll like it or not, i cant really tell at this point in the book.
*Fact: John meets Savannah when he is on leave at home in Wilmington, NC. They fall in love.
*Opinion:I don’t think they really had planned on falling in love i think it just happened that way after they met each other. It was one of those love at first sight sort of deals. Not much to really say about this.
* Fact:John’s time in the army, around 9/11, weigh on John and Savannah’s relationship.
*Opinion:In my opinion they should’ve thought more on how it would work with them being apart for so long. They knew he would have to go away and never know when,or if, he would ever come back. THey should’ve known the separation between them would have some toll on their relationship.I think the letters between them though have helped the relationship stay intact and help hold them together even though they are miles apart. So when and if they ever meet it will make it even more special because it will be face to face instead of on paper.
Dear John is romantic, sappy, sad and redeeming. If you like Sparks’ previous novel,The Notebook,you will probably enjoy Dear John, a love story. The book is about an army sergeant who falls in love shortly before 9/11. While he is at away he writes back and forth with the woman he fell in love with,Savannah the girl he meets when he is on leave at home in Wilmington, NC. So while he is war the separation takes its toll on their relationship. If you don’t like love stories that are romantic and sappy, with a little bit of comedy then you wont like this book.
I am still Reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
As in my last entry Becky Thatcher’s picnic has officially taken place. Well Tom and Becky were supposed to stay at someone who lives by the ferryboat landing. They stay at somebody’s house, but the people in the village don’t know that. The villagers think that Becky and Tom are still in the cave at where they took the picnic at.
Earlier that night, Huck Finn follows Injun Joe and his partner to Widow Douglas’s house. He overhears what Joe is going to do to the widow for what her husband did to him. Huck tells one of her neighbors, a good ways away, about what Joe and company are going to do to the widow. Well the neighbor goes and scares Joe and company away with pistols and other weapons.
That is all I have read tonight.

So this week I’ll blog on Twilight, maybe Graceling? You wonder what I’ll chose? Twilight. Because, I just read it, and maybe Marj shouldn’t get me absorbed in books that she knows I’ll like. uggghhh. Yuck! Anyway, I really like Twilight, unfortuantly, I will now blog and not bore you with my awful sob stories.
Mon.- Well, let’s see, Bella moved to Forks, WA with her dad Charlie. She finds she fits in better with the kids in Forks than Pheonix. (At least I think that’s where she was from) She gets attcked by a bunch of guys (not literaly) that really like her. So, she notices this guy, that sits with a bunch of other kids that all have pale skin and strange eyes, but their all disticntly beautiful. She is sort of afraid of Edward though, he always shoots her nasty looks and everything at lunch. Then, in biology, he sits as far as away from her as possible. She sees that his eyes are black. It kind of freaks her out. (Wouldn’t that freak you out, creepy!) So she’s trying to figure out what is wrong with this Edward guy who keeps on trying to change classes with her and everything.
Tues.- So, one day, Edward has different colored eyes, Topaz. He seems friendly after missing a few days of school. He talks to her and asks her to sit with him at lunch. The other guys that like her get mad, well, more like jealous. So, she finds she likes Edward, but he moves so swiftly, after saving her from several injuries. She can’t figure out what he is. So one day she goes to the beach with some friends and a bunch of other people. She meets this guy, Jacob, who’s a little younger than she, and she squeezes a secret out of him. He knows what Edward is a vampire. When Bella finds out she wants to tell him badly, but he’s not there. She’ll have to wait until after school.
Wed.- She tells Edward he’s a vampire, even though Jacob told her not to tell anyone. Oh well. So, she feels sort of weird but better, now that she knows what he is. So one day he takes her out for the day to the woods. It makes her nervous, since she trips over everything, including flat surfaces. (No kidding, so do I!) So he takes her into the woods, until they get into this small opening, and he shows her what he looks like in sunlight. He sparkles, which is kind of weird, in a good way, I guess… (As Marj told me, from some kid at camp Behold-Edward is an over rated vampire that sparkles)
Thurs.- She finds out that Edward actually is in her room at night. He listens to her sleep, and she doesn’t know. She has nightmares and he says he whispers his name a lot. She gets all embarrased, and he tells her he wants her to meet his family. She’s nervous about his family, that they won’t like her. But he says she’ll be fine. So then he kisses her and she actually faints. Like lights out. (Crazy girl) So, then they go on their way to his house, to meet his vampire family. She meets Carlisle and Esme, then Jasper, Alice, Rosalie (Who hates her), and Emmett. She knows all of them from school, well everyone but Esme and Carlisle, his parents. So, like everyone seems like they like her accept maybe Rosalie and Jasper. So he shows her their giant house and tells the story of their vampire history. So now, I have blogged a lot, and Mr. Mayfield probably won’t want to read all of this.
Well, there are my blogs for this week. Now, let’s hope I get good sleep and finish math homework. Oh, here’s a B-day shout out! Happy Birthday Marjorie!!! Bye, and now for more reading! 🙂
Of course i’m still reading Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty. I left out with them finding the humongous tree in the middle of that abandoned house to see if there are any more buildings around that they passed. So…….they head up the tree climbing from limb to limb and as they get higher you can hear monkeys screeching beside you in a next door neighbor tree. Birds fly out of trees with a sudden swoosh! Jacques is at the top leading the way to the bright sun they see at the top, Bartlett is in the middle, and the trainee Gozo is out the bottom barely picking his way through the large tree they are climbing. They got higher and higher till they could barely see the ground because of the numerous limbs beneath them. they reach the top to find sunlight for the first time in 4 and a half days. It was fresh air and trees surrounding them below. they were above everything, it was amazing! Suddenly Jacques lets out an excitement yelp, they look over to see that not far away were about 3 different buildings. One was large and there were a couple more surrounding them. Jacques looks at the large castle like building a little more closly to find a small human figure sitting on one of the oval layers of the building.

now i am reading a poem from egger Allen Poe called Spirit Of the Dead thing the narrater is saying that his soul is alone and i think that means that he does not have a love is his life or he does not have any one that he cares about.
now he is latterly saying that he is alone by being silent, solitude, and lonely.
now he is saying that spirits of the dead are standing also he is saying that death is surrounding him.
now he is saying that it is a clear day but he can not see any stars and by that i think he is saying that his soul is blind and the stars are things that are important to him.

Book: Orel Hershiser
There is conflict in what i just read and it is external conflict because Orel shows his Christian life, just by the way he has been living after he got right with God and got saved. He is now reading his bible more than he used to, and showing his faith with is wife, Jamie. Orel and Jamie make a good couple because of the way they live their life. They each see Christ through each other and co to church too. Orel is now praying before and after games, reading his bible more, and just being helpful to his teammates. In the 15 minutes i read, Orel is righting about how the Lord has made a change in his life. Orel is now a good man (not that he wasnt in the first place, but has now changed). I hope that others will follow what Orel and I have done and get saved one day before the Lord comes back for us…
I am now reading cell and alice, clay, and tom have just gotten to toms house were the savior of tom forrm the crazyness of the cell phones was none other than his cat rafe. when tom got home the cat leaped into his arms and started purring like crazy, then he jumped down and sat beside his food bowl as if to say are you going to feed me or not? when they finnaly found flashlights and went over to the empty neighboors house to see if they had guns they found two dead bodies of a mother and child. how is that for grusome! they then while trying not to throw up ( alice wasn’t so lucky) they found nearly an armory down in the basement. they all took automatics and set off for north when they decided to head to new jersy. later on they ran into refugees of what they now call the pulse, and saw two men fighting over a keg of beer and then they saw a woman arguing with a man about a young girl that had fallen asleep in a bugey cart. so they are now heading north with crazy people and are off to new jersey. 😉 🙂 😀 8D
The book i am reading relates to Touchdown Alexander because the protagonist in both books adventually gets saved. In the book i am reading now, Butch answers EVERY SINGLE question that is asked by Orel Hershiser. Now after Orel has tried his best to prove Butch wrong, Orel is now one just like Butch. In Touchdown Alexander, Shaun i think asks his cousin, or one of his friends started talking about God and stuff. Shaun had gone to church when he was a kid, but he just never got saved. This is how these 2 books are similar.
Well today was fun. Went to school with severe chest pains, then they slightly lessened to hurt-a-lot chest pains. Then as the day went on they left. and then went to football, which was AWESOME. It didnt hurt as bad as the first day, but it still hurt. Anyways Im off subject, I need to be discussing the Author’s purpose of my book that I am reading currently, “The New Breed” by W.E.B. Griffin.
The author’s purpose was to entertain young and old, wise and unwise,and interested people, or just those who need something to read for Advanced literature, I fall under the interested category quite frankly. This book is also a way to help inform people of the many military events that happened in the 1960s without completely boring you like a history book. He does this by not only making a book out of it, but by adding characters and events that were either not known publicly or that were 100% made up, fictional characters. He helps to keep the reader interested in the fact that as he goes, he uncovers new facts to the reader, allowing them to grip earlier events a little bit better and making them wonder how there are other tie-ins. I enjoy this style of reading, and if you think that you do then please read W.E.B. Griffin, as long as you don’t mind some language and other gruesome images, he is a great author. That is why I am on book 6 of the 7 books in this particular series.

Okay well, I think that The Adventures of Tom Sawyer compares well to The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimen. I think that these two books compare well because Tom and Bod are both orphans. One of the different things about these two characters is that Tom gets to interact with alot of children and Bod only gets to interact with the children that come to the graveyard and the dead children which isn’t the same. Tom on the other hand gets to go to public school, not home school. Also they both have someone chasing after them to kill them. Tom’s reason is because he testified in court telling the judge about Injun Joe. Bod has someone chasing after him because of a prophet that told the Jack’s of All Trades that if he lives then that would be the end of that club.
That is all I have read tonight.

Hey, it’s Brock and I’m Reading Touchdown Alexander. The one literary feature he uses flashback throughout the book. One part i just read he went to a flashback and he went to Panama City, Florida with his friends Ray, Brian, and Steve. He knew they would be tempted to drink and go to bad parties. So they all agreed that they wouldn’t drink, I mean they were seniors in high school, they would try. Well, everything was going well until they were heading up to the apartment when they noticed Ray was gone. So they looked and looked but, couldn’t find him. So they were going to get supper and look again afterwards. As soon as they finished eating they heard someone talk about a huge party. So they looked there and sure enough Ray was sitting on a couch. When Shaun saw this he asked “What were you doing?”
Ray replied “Just partying.”
Shaun asked again “What were you doing, Ray?”
Ray replied “I was drinking and now I’m drunk and I don’t feel very good.”
So, they took Ray back to the hotel room. When the phone rang and it was Shaun’s mom. He answered “Hello?”
“Honey how’s everything going? Has Ray been drinking?”
“Mom we’re fine mom.” But he didn’t answer the second question.
“Has Ray been drinking?” She asked again, But Shaun just didn’t answer and changed the subject. He said he never found out how she knew, but that was a memberal time that changed his life.
P.S. I finished Daniel, Half of Exodous, Some of Leveticus, and a little of Joshua.

I’m still reading Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty, it is getting more exciting and exciting. this is probally my favorite book right now. I left off with them at the top of the ginormous tree looking down on a triangle of different shaped buildings. As they are looking down they catch a glimpse of a person sitting down in front of the largest building. When they see this they immediatley start heading down the tree to go to the human figure.So……..like there way up they had thousands of noises all around them and couldn’t even get a glimpse of anything but themselves. After a long journey of cutting vines away they finally end up in front of the largest cylinder shaped building. From where they were standing they couldn’t find any entrances. they were so determined to find what was inside that they started to climb up the stairs that spiraled from level to level.
Okay I am now blogging because my hand is like cramping up and I am doing all my blogs today because it is the only free time I have so yea…

I recently finished the book Eclipse. You know those Twilight books you claim you “don’t like.” JK! Anyways. I am now moving on to the book PERFECT. I started reading this book because I was at books a million and Stormie said I should read this. Anyways this book is about a girl who is Bulimic and her sister “Ape Face” or April walks in on her in the bathroom throwing up and she went and told her mom even though Isabelle, the main charactar told her not to. And now she goes to group. 🙂

Now the reason she went to group or is bulimic is because she thinks she is fat because of all the bad stuff in her life makes her eat. Even though she isn’t. Her dad died just recently and now she feels that she i ugly and grows even though she isn’t. Once she is at group she meets a bunch of new people especially this one girl named Ashley Barnum. Ashley Barnum goes to her school and is the most popular girl in school. Even though she is popular she doesn’t let it go to her head. She is nice to everyone she meets and that is why everyone loves her and wants to be like her. 😀
Wednesday 1/27/10:
One day at group after the journal excercises, Ashley Barnum and Isabelle get paired up together for another excercise. This excercise is for one person to tell something they hate about themselves and the other compliments about what they hated and turned it into something good about them. So they get to talking and they become friends. Now that they have so much in common, Ashley decides to leave Isabelle her number and Isabelle is shocked. So when she gets home she thinks about calling, but she doesn’t because she thinks that Ashley will think she is strange and that is all I have read so far I cannot wait to read some more. 😛

Tuesday:author’s purpose-Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
I think the author’s purpose is to entertain his readers with the twisting story of john and savanna. He tells their story of how they fall in love and how they go thorough the changes of john having to be shipped out to Iraq.He then towards the end of the book splits the two of them up.So i was thinking Why did he choose that ending for Dear John (John and Savannah not being together)?I think it is because that bittersweet ending, made more emotional power than either a tragic or happy ending. It seemed to fit in with the rest of the story. I think he tries to vary the endings in general so the reader never knows what to expect. Surprise is the final element of the modern love story, and i think that is why people love his books because you never really know what to expect in the end.
Wednesday:character-
This book consists of three basic characters:
John Tyree: the tattooed army sergeant who tells the book
Savannah: the incredibly beautiful brunette whom he falls for while home on a one week leave from Germany
Tim: Savannah’s best friend who is mature and has sage advice
When you put all of these characters together i think you get a good book, just like this that Nicholas Sparks wrote. This book and The Notebook have similarities by the way they are written, you can tell that they are written by the same author. I think that is what Nicholas Sparks tries to do in his books,introduce his writing techniques and show that something can happen in the book that you don’t expect. His makes his characters very clear in the book, like john, he is a bad boy in the beginning of the book and as he grows up and the book goes on you can see how he starts to change out of that bad boy image.Tonight’s journal sort of goes along with Tuesday nights. Sorry i had to write both tonight i ran out of time yesterday with softball and everything. (:

Well Huckleberry is getting better from his illness and is now back on the streets being a boy again. Tom told the Judge that Injun Joe was locked in the cave because the Judge made a gigantic stone be rolled over the main entrance of the cave and bolted shut. They opened it back up and found Injun Joe starved to death right behind the door of the cave. After they found him the stone got bolted back in place. Tom went back through the entrance he escaped out of and went back with Huck to find Joe’s treasure. They found it and left the money in the widow’s hayloft where Huck often sleeps. They left the guns and the other stuff in the treasure box. The widow had a party and invited a lot of the families who are friends of Tom Sawyer’s family and their children. That is all I have read tonight.

so far i have read that the narratore is saying that as a child he was different and he does not see the same as other kids do, by that i think he means that he is different and he sees things differently like he could not see the awesome things in front of him.
also he could not enjoy any thing and he feels sorrow

I have been reading alot of justus martins book, taken. its about a girl who is kidnapped by a group of mexican paramedics. She flashes back many times to happy times. she even had classes back in her school about kidnapping because there were so many. she lived in the safest neighborhood in the usa and still got napped as she would call it.
Dear taken girl(your name is never mentioned),
As always i put myself in your position and talk. If i were you i wouldnt care if i got shot leaving the ambulance. You knw that they probably wont do anything because if they do the deal will be off and they dont get money. also, how many people can an ambulance hold five or six. there’s not that many so i would atleast make a break for it. if they shoot you, they shoot you. theyre not going to make you suffer so it will either be a one shot one kill or they just dont shoot at all. boo yah. i may have just saved the day for you. but theres still a whole lot of reading to be done so i will soon find out if you follow my advice.
i think that the reasoning of this book was to tell the reader to always be prepared. dont go into anyones car if you dont know them. if an ambulance comes make sure that your mom, dad, or guardian goes with you. make sure to check the ambulance’s personel license. remember to alwyas be prepared and never ever go into an ambulance. tell the driver that you want to ride with your parent. also, if an ambulance comes to your house for no reason and says that they got a phone call that the girl is sick, this is for you parents, dont let em go.
i think that this book compares pretty well to the movie taken. who knows if they made the book or movie about one or the other. they both have basically the same plot. plot is the things that happen in a story. i saw the movie and the girl is kidnapped at the beginning. its the same for the book. but the story in the movie is told from the dad and the book is told from the girl. in the book the girls dad is hardly ever home but in movie the dad takes action and saves the girl. the thing the story is about is being kidnapped and they both have that in common.
Gotta chunk load of readin to unload on you, GET READY!!!! We start with a guy jumping off a truck, accidentally pulling the pin on a grenade and being ripped open by the blast. Next day, hill takeover for next day’s operation. Republic of Korea force turns tail and is encompassed by U.N. (mainly British and American soldiers) forces. Then Black ran and tripped, jamming his Browning Automatic Rifle. He then cleans it with bullets pinging off of the BAR and rocks surrounding him. He then jumped into a foxhole (shelter in the ground) with a South Korean trooper, then shoots a North Korean troop (group of soldiers), then looked at his friend. Guess who had a hole in his forehead? Black left then. Bye!
so im gonna do tuesdays journals even though it’s wednesday b/c i didnt get home last night from the basement until 10 and then i didnt get finished w/ mi homework till 11 so i was like worn out 2day and yesterday but n e wayz…….. so on mi monday journal i was leaving off where matt and elena were being tortured by damon. well elena was right b/c damon was possessed by the malach b/c of shinichi which is this weird yet strong vampire dude who wants to rule over fells church and destroy it. elena finally convinces the possessed damon to leave matt outta what she was gettin into since he had already been threw enough. well when they get into damons ferrari elean hatches up a plan but it’s not a pretty one. so when they start drivin elena pulls out her camisole thing or watever and puts it over her so damon wont kno she isnt wearing her seatbelt. well he first drinks a lil more than half of her blood and keep in mind she has to do what he says or else matt dies. but after elena starts hitting him b/c shes about to pass out he finally stops and starts to drive with a new powerful energy surging threw him ( her blood ). well when they finally come to the curve elena has been waiting for, she opens the car door and tries to jump out while the car is goin at full speed. damon with his fast new reflexes grabs a handful of hair but has to let go. so elena goes flying across a field and ends up with a lot of damage but when she hears the car turning around quickly she makes a run for it and is forced to go into the old wood after dark hoping she doesnt run into some creature like idk the malach………

I would truly enjoy it if you would stop sending people over here who are not very good at their covers. I have located your “secret service agent”, which must not be true cause no secret service agent would be that bad, and if he is then they have just become out right sad at their jobs. But flat outly, these “agents” that you are sending over her are starting to tick me off, and the next one I find will be captured and executed on television. I truly do not want to do this, but you are interfering in my line of work as a car sales man, and I am ONLY a car sales man at this point. So if you would please, stop bugging me.

The First Part Last
16 year old Bobby is having the time of his life. He has no worries and a great girlfriend. He spends all his days eating, hanging out with friends, and partying. He spends all his nights sleeping. Nia, his girlfriend, has something big to tell him. She is pregnant. Nia and Bobby are tell Bobby’s parents, and then they tell Nia’s parents. Nia is not ready to give up her life of poularity, partying, and being a care free teenager. Bobby’s grades start going down, and he is starting to do poorly in school. Bobby’s two best friends are treating him weird and bailing out on him. He is slipping into a depression, slowly.

Bobby isn’t the only one depressed. Nia is trying to cover up her worries by partying. She drags Bobby to a party in uptown New York. It is a school night, and Bobby is exhausted. Nia dances and drinks the whole time. The apartment is filled with smoke, and Bobby is worried about Nia. Bobby takes Nia home. Nia tells Bobby that she knows she can’t give the baby what it really needs. She tells him she is giving the baby up for adoption. Bobby knows she is really depressed and agrees to the adoption. He is scared if the baby doesn’t get a good home, Nia will hurt herself or the baby.

The First Part Last
Nia and Bobby go meet a social worker. They are planning on putting the baby up for an open adoption. Bobby can sense that Nia is getting worse. She is eight months along. He takes her back to her house. They watch tv together, and then Bobby leaves. When Bobby leaves, Nia has already made her decision. She tries to commit suicide. A neighbor calls the ambulance when they see blood under the door. Once at the hospital, the baby is taken out of Nia. The baby is premature, but will live. Nia is in a non cureable, irreversible, vegatative state. Since Nia is a vegetable, Bobby must raise Feather, the baby girl, all by himself.

Bobby can’t give Feather up. His parents won’t help him out with her. Neither will Nia’s parents. Bobby still has to go to school. He has to take her to a babysitters 2 hours away. He gets thrown in jail for painting a picture of Feather on a wall when he was delusional. He moves in with his dad. His older brother tells him that he raises his kids in a ittle town in Ohio called Heaven. Bobby decides to move to Heaven. He leaves with nothing but Feather. He is finally happy.

I FINALLY finished this book. THank Goodness.
For my journal. Huck Finn becomes the Widow’s (or Widder’s as they say) responsibility. Huck gets his money put in the bank and is rationed it every week. Tom is still under Aunt Polly’s custody. Although he is still under her custody his money is still rationed of course by Judge Thatcher. This was Aunt Polly’s wish. Huck is realizing that being rich isn’t what he thought it would be. He realizes that he has to wear fancy clothes and sleep on fancy beds and get up at a certain time. The conclusion at the end was short and sweet, just telling that this book was about a boy and if Mark Twain went on then it would be about a man.
Still reading Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty. We left off with them climbing down the over sized tree to go to the really big building that they found. When they get to the building they can not find an entrance to go inside. They do find some stairs and they start to walk up them. So….. they spend some time walking up the stairs and of course they walk up in order:Jacques in front, Bartlett in the middle, and Gozo at the bottom. After walking for about ten minutes they here some music. They couldn’t figure out what it was. It sounded like flute music but they were not sure. They walk around a curve to find a small girl hanging her legs of the ledge of the building. She is the one playing the flute music. It was a mixture of long and rough notes. The girl wore a different design type of dress that looked like they were made up of blankets. Right then she stops playing and turns her head to see the three and a half explorers. She had tan skin and brown hair. Gozo was so mesmerized by how beatiful she was he didnt have the courage to introduce herself. Bartlett looked at her lay down his machete and told her his name, Jacques did the same thing. With no fear in her eyes she glanced at them to follow her.
Wow, I am so sore from football,and my mom decided to be lazy and make me walk down my quarter mile driveway because she didn’t want to get up and turn on the truck. So now if I bend over my muscles will tear in half, and I will be in extreme pain. Anyways, other than that I am semi happy, and today has been a good day.
#1 This book has quite the characters in it. Micheal Hoare is a Mercenary for the Katanga Province in the ex-Belgian Congo. He is supplied by the Chinese Communist with weapons and ammo, as well as vital supplies. There is also Colonel Felter, who is Hoare’s enemy on the US front, but he is a good man and an advisor to the president of the USA at the time, Lyndon B. Johnson. He is a honest, hardworking man , who likes to know exactly what is happening anywhere on planet Earth.
#2 Facts: The People’s Army, led by Olenga, has taken over many small towns in the ex-Belgian Congo. The US is afraid that this group will take power and be supplied by the Chinese communist, and that they will end up controlling the entire Congolese Government. If he succeeds then the country will become communist more than likely. The US is trying everything in its power without sending in troops to stop this insurgency. They even have asked Colonel Mobutu to send in his ANC paratroops to take down the rebel force.
Opinions:I enjoy how the author, W.E.B Griffin treats all the events as if they were real, but adds in some that just draw attention. I also enjoy the setting for I do not hear many stories concerning the continent of Africa, much less the Congo itself. The craziest thing so far, and I am 147 pages into it, is that the Americans who were living in the towns were evacuated that morning, and the people who helped them get out were captured, and unfortunately killed. Also, the President heard this information before Colonel Felter had informed him because one of the senators of Oklahoma had asked a favor concerning it, which is funny, because Felter is the president’s aide on the intelligence community.

reading “the gospel according to larry”. terrific book, mayfield. i like the way it tells a good message, but adds humor to keep the story rolling. this book has a great story, and describes things excellently. i really like the characters, and how they are portrayed, like these characters are real people and this is a real thing happening. it also eerily reminds me of stargirl, in a way. the characters have a similar mind-set to stargirl, in some ways more than others, and the story is similar at the point im reading. really, really great book, recommended to everyone. also, a book i recently finished, stars of the kanri, is excellent. it really brings a new perspective to religion with a sci fi twist. i never knew the two could exist in the same format, but i guess i was pleasantly wrong. anyway, the gospel really digs deep into the mind of society. really good. he has “sermons” about different things like consumerism and celebrity worship. and after each “part” there is a photo of a random item and a bible verse that goes along with the sermon and the story part. love it, now one of my faves!
so gettin straight to the point, elena decides to go off into the old wood with a hope she doesnt run into n e creature that she knows is deadly. not knowing she left a blood trail, matt is able to find her when he wakes up but b4 i start that, we gots to talk about damon. when he turned around to go look for elean since she had flung herself out the car door, he finally woke up outta his lil trance and bcame the actual damon. he couldnt remember n e thing from the day or night b4 except elena was mad and she jumped outta the car. but he couldnt remember y. had he done something? he couldnt remember n e thing. but he did feel a strong new power and he didnt understand where it came from. ( it was from elenas blood the night b4) damon sent a strong surge of power to shinichi b/c he knew that he had something to do with it. when he finally arrived to where shinichi was there was a fight to be had but shinichi was in fox form and was playin dead and of course it didnt work. he called for his sister misao and she came as a fo to but it didnt wrk b/c damon was so strong from elena’s blood. he almost killed shinichi btu knew he couldnt find elena without him so he let him live but he trapped misao in a cage thing. this is wednesdays journal!!!! 🙂 😮 🙂
Iam still on the book cell and so far alice has just lost a shoe that had benn a ccharm for her ever since the begining of the pulse. Then it happened……………………….. the blew the soccer field full of pulse victim crazies up. they nearly died doing it but they sucseded none the less………………….. but then came karma. the old man came into calys temporary room and told him not to protest or fuss at all. clay agreed and once the old man started he wish that he would have refused. the old man told him that the only thing holdng jordan from running away from here was him so he said that in the morning they would find him dead. clay was to tell them all that he had died of a heart attack in his sleep. that same night clay had a vivid dream of a raggady man and a group of followers that had blood red hoodies that had HARVARD wtitten on them and clay was repeating the word insane over and over again in different languages while everyone elese was saying DON’T TOUCH. when he woke up but had no idea what it meant but drew the face of the man and later heard jordan crindg and he think he knew why. he rushed down the hall to find alice craddling him. it took everything he had not to say SO DID YOU SEE HIM YET, and was glad he did when she said it was a ightmare. at that he had an idea. he ran to the room and while doing so waking up his ” room mate” tom who said had just had a vivid dream. that srenghthend his theory and ran back to jordan and showed him the picture while asking was he in your dream. he didnt say anything because he didnt have to his expression said eveything and so did tom. they had the same exact nightmare. 😉 🙁 🙁
ok so for thursday, shinichi took damon to his lil cabin to look into this globe thing where he could find n e one and n e thing. damon could see elena and she was weak and close to dying. she had used the last ounce of energy to send a message to bonnie to save matt and it was too late for her. damon was so mad that he wanted to rip shinichis throat out but he didnt have time b/c elena was dying. he was there to her within a milli sec. and fought off the creatures that were taking away her every last breath and cutting off the circulation. n e creature that dared to touch her was going to be ripped to shreds. when the creatures were all off he scooped her limp body up into his arms and took her back to shinichis cabin. meanwhile matt had awaken inside elenas jaguar ( car ) and there was no sign of the monstrous damon. he thought that was a good sign and he would have a better chance of getting to elena but he looked all over the fields and couldnt find her even though he couldnt see all that well n e wayz. he searched threw his pockets for the keys to the jaguar and then remembered they were in the ignition of the car. he wanted to start it but was scared he would run over elenas limp body and not kno. so he searched threw the glove compartment and finally found a flashlight then searched the fields once more but couldnt find her. he assumed damon took her with him so matt had to follow the trail but he didnt wanna go in the jaguar cuz the malah might get him. he followed the trail all the way to the curve where elena jumped and he knew right away that she did b/c of the pool of blood. he followed the blood trail into the woods all the way to the dunstans house who now had some lights on. he went to the door but they hadnt seen elena but something was wrong. the lil girl kristen had turned into what tami had been when they were there earlier and she screamed when the dunstans tried to pry her off of matt. her older brother punched her and believe me she let go and then she screamed even more. matt told the dunstans to be cautious and dont let n e man in their house unless they saw a gurl covered in blood and hurt. he followed her trail into the woods where she had went and what next was that he would only n counter what elena had. but would he make it out alive?????? these r mi journals for this week maf!!!! I have been reading under the stars. It is very interesting book. A summary of what I read is Elen is staying with Ann Marie. She is hiding from the Nazis. They go to visit Ann Maries uncle. When they get there, Ann Maries uncle said that aunt birdie died, but aunt birdie doesn’t exist.

I think the author’s purpose is to entertain and to inform because the book tells you about what it was like in world war 2. So its realistic fiction. The book tells facts, yet it is very interesting at the same time. I like books that are not all facts, but I don,t like that many books without facts.

I think the book relates to change because Ann Marie changes throughout the book. Her friend Elen also has to change her jewish act and start to act like normal people, otherwise the nazis will kill her. Thats way she is hiding at Ann Maries house.

This book is like another book I read, called life in the 1940s. They are alike because they are both based in the 1940s and both of them are about war. One is about a boy and one is about a girl. both books are really good. bye

This week I am reading Dear John, by nikolas sparks. These books really make you think about your life. And how some people don’t have such great of a childhood,but not just about that. But about love, and i know all these guys are thinking “Wow,nicholas sparks is gay! He writes love stories!” But it is so much more than that, you think about how you want to fall in love or if you’ll even fall in love, or will you just marry someone that you are infatuated with, even if this is a book it gives every girl hope that she might find love in her life. Someone as sweet and thoughtful as John, someone who realizes their flaws and shows their soft side,admits when they were wrong and just keep trying and trying until everything is right! Even if you can’t try anymore! If you love someone you should want to do anything to make them happy, and that is what true love is. You have to work at it everyday and you are gonna fight and laugh and cry,but the great part about it is, later that night when you are trying to go to sleep even if you are still mad at each other you think and think, and realize that they were only doing it because they loved you. And that is what he is trying to get across with this book, that if its true love it can survive anything! And you are never gonna stop loving that person! Right now in the book john just left for Germany, they are writing letters back and forth. But the sad thing is that john can’t really remember the exact details about Savannah. And he has a picture of her, and he is now just realizing some details about savannah. And its just sad that he doubts his love for her at one time while he is gone!Dear Randy, I am really sorry about what happpened with John. Its just he is trained to quickly disarm anyone that messes with him. He didn’t hurt me, i hurt him. I am sorry what he did to your arm. He is too, but he just didn’t want to do at that point in time. He was upset and mad. But i really like john, and you are a nice kid. But I am in love with John. I am sorry.

Hello again. I’ve only had one day of high school workouts and 3 days of baseball and I am as sore as a something…I couldn’t think of anything. That’s how sore I am. 🙂 I’m still reading Skulduggery Pleasant. It’s really good.
I’ve gotten to where Baron Vengeous has gotten Lord Vile’s armor and all he has to do is do some hocus pokus on the dead Grotesquery and it will come to life. Skulduggery and Valkyrie need to find out where the Grotesquery is buried, and they have Scapegrace. They make Scapey(that’s what I call Scapegrace) tell them who knows where the Grotesquery is hidden.
The Torment, a sorcerer who lives in Roarhaven underground, knows where. They go to Roarhaven, and enter the bar that Scapey owned until he pursued his life in crime, which failed miserably, to find a bunch of people talking. These people are drinking and laughing until they see Scapedawg(what I call Scapegrace when I’m in a gangsta mood), and that’s when they all get ready to fight. It’s a regular bar fight…except for the regular part cuz the people in the bar are cyclopses, monsters and people who can do all sorts of crazy stuff. It ends up with Skulduggery and Valkyrie standing over limp bodies and Scapedawg sitting down. They chain Scape to a pipe with his shackles and go to the underground cellar.
They find themselves in a dark corridor. They search room to room for the Torment until they finally find him. He runs but Skulduggery starts to fight him, and Torment gets Skull’s gun. They chase him down the halls until they get attacked by monster spiders. They kill all the spiders and finally get outside. Scapedawg broke free and is getting away when he sees Torment pointing a gun at Val and Skull. He goes over there when he hears Torment telling Skull he has to kill Valkyrie.
He takes Val over in an alley, and brings out a reflection from a magic puddle that is somehow connected to Val’s mirror.(Val uses the reflection in her mirror so she can go on missions and the reflection can go to school and all that). Anyway, Skull shoots the reflection and everyone thinks it’s really Val. Torment goes away, and everyone else goes back to the car. That’s when Scapey is surprised to hear Val’s voice comin up from behind him. He’s very confused, but they found out where the Grotesquery was hidden. So they go there and Baron and his minions are there too. Skull kills everyone except Baron and now they are about to fight.

Anyway, what if when she shot the bag with the apple in it and… i hate to say this… she was too close and she was blown to the top of a tree missing an arm and couldn’t hear anything. Then she most likely wouldn’t have won the Hunger Games. Then her family wouldn’t be in danger of getting killed by the evil snake President Snow. Well, that’s it for me, Randy out!

hey! it’s randy again! i’m still reading Catching Fire and it’s rrrrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyy good. i’m on chapter three and so far a lot of things are happenning. first she has all he banquetyish things, the next sunday she hugs gale crying like a baby (katniss was crying), then all of a sudden gale kisses katniss and she’s like “0 wow!”, a few months later when she arrives home president snow pretty much says you make everyone think you and peeta are really in love or there is an unprising and i kill you and your family, gale and his family, and peeta and his family, then he says p.s. i saw you and gale kiss. hows that for thirty pages, huh? randy over and out! peace out!

Normally Me Olive-A being able to relate and understand lola questions myself alot.
which is one way this character isn’t quite real to me. True drama queens dramatically question themselves to make shure that not even one thing is wrong.
BAD THINGS ABOUT THE CHARACTER:
.1 thing about the character is she needs to question herself more.
.2 is her obsession with Carla Santini
.3 She always takes everything to the extreams.
.4 Her relationship with her family.
Those are just some of the things… Lola is like every girls inner soul, [at least a little anyway] She had to pretend her sister was dying so she could talk this guy out of some sidaurther tickets. After they had no luck they ran into Carla Santini. Carla knows they’re lying and is out to get her.

GOOD THINGS ABOUT LOLA:

Those are some of the better thing about Lola.
Lola figured out what to do about the concert and party. They are going to buy the tickets from scalpers, and Ella’s going to say she’s spending the night with Lola. Lola’s going to say that she’s spending the night with Ella.

WAZZUP? okay, spazzing out over, Ranger Born is starting to get…. um,…. gory. First of all, they threw dead out of foxholes to use them, and if they bothered to bury them, the corpses broke onto whatever they were using, and the dead were all over the place, some ripped in half by bullets, some still burning from naplam (jellied gasoline), and even more choking on White Phosporous (acidic agent used by Chinese and U.N.). People who were shot tried to get to cover and a medic, some civilians. One lady was carrying a baby hat was hit and was crazed with anger. All they could do was patch the baby up and keep firing. The wounded, if they could move, got their gun back and kept fighting. War is heck, indeed. It’s also bloody, and gory, and just plain gross.

now i am reading a new poem by edgar allan poe (wow real hard to guess) called a dream with in a dream
so far the narrator is talking about that he is in love and he is getting kissed by his sole mate in his dream
and he is also saying that all of the good things in his life is just a dream
and he is saying that all of his hope is leaveing him in one night and i think he is saying that while he is sleeping and he is haveing a nightmare and in that nightmare all of his hopes has been ruined while he is sleeping
now he is saying that while he is going nighty-night (zzzzzzzzzzz) he is having a vision while he is sleeping in his dream (a dream with in a dream) i think that he has some problems
now he is saying that he is crying while he is crying (weird)

Live LLike You were Dying- Love it so far:) So Nathan has finally realized that he needs to live life. Two days later after he was released from the hospital he went back to work. The front gate guy told him the he had to park in the workers parking lot b/c the guy filling in for Nathan was her b/c Nathan was expected to be out of work for 3 months but came back two days later. Nathan left to work site MAD as all get out, so mad he went down to the headquarters of the entire project. He walked into a meeting the president of the company was in and screamed at her about it. Walked swung the glass door open so hard it shattered he looked back without a second thought and smiled and walked out. When he got home he decided to finally live life. He made a fancy dinner with his daughters favorite food, as a surprise when his wife and daughter came home. That Friday he called some of his daughters friends and told them to wait outside the school Friday with his daughtrer and he has a surprise for her but they couldn’t tell her. When Friday rolled around, Nathan pulled up in front of the school in a stretched limo wih his goofy self standing out of the sun roof like he was all that in a bag of chips.His daughter was so shocked and over joyed she cried and gave her daddy a HUGE hug:) That night they went out to eat then went to this teen club. When they got there all her friends ran in and Nathan calmly walked in behind them. He got inside and went and stood with the parents over on the side. Not 10 minutes from the time they got there some of his daughters friends ran over and pulled Nathan into the large crowd of teens to dance and get down with them. I just have to say personaly I wouldn’t even want my dad coming in better yet coming and dancing, First of all, My dad is not a small man and would like squish some people. So it wouldn’t only be embarracing but also a safty risk. After their asmazing Friday Night that next Saturday afternoon they left to the country part of Georgia to see some of Nathans family.
