happy week before football!!! or, i guess for the band kids, happy week of football – or something like that…
finished the fitzgerald book – the poor couple who were waiting for granddad to die so they could get his money ended up destroying their lives – and on the last appeal, did get the money – it was too late though – the man had gone psycho – lesson i learned is you’ll wasted your life away waiting for grandmother’s money… 🙂
started walden by henry david thoreau – i’m about 1/2 way through – the book is sort of disappointing – like i read it in college and liked it – now, i’m like “who’s this 30-year-old that supposedly solved all of life’s problems – and reached solutions different than anyone else had ever reached – what made him so smart?”
over the weekend – okay, like friday – i read “out of my mind” – by sharon draper – second book in the BOB series i’ve read – it was good – would make a wonderful complement to rules by cynthia lord – i wasn’t that surprised by the book – i sort of saw the twist coming at the end – so yeah for me, i guess…
finished most of the minor prophets this week – zechariah is waaaaaaaay different than the rest of them – much more like revelation – angel of death and such – i also read about the saban movie coming to theaters this friday – i’m thinking road trip
oh, mockingjay comes out this week too – for those that care… 🙂

Hey Mr. Mayfeild this is Raychel adn as you probaly know I am reading the book that I checked out wich is Love, Stargirl and i have only been reading this book since wendsday but I am loving it. Well i know i did not do a blog post or anything last night so i am writing for 15min.!!!
Okayy so nothing on my list of things that you said we could blog about fit what i read so i am doing summary!!! (sorry Mr. Mayfeild) Okayy so what i read was about stargirl and she just moved to a town near a park named Bemus Park. So anyway she has just recently moved and she realizes that when she rides her bike down the road like she does almost everyday she finds a place which is a feild that used to be a come-and-pick-you’re-own-strawberry-patch. But now it is just a plain feild that she uses to medidate in. But then i think she meets another girl named Dootsie I think.
See the problem is when I got to Lindsey’s house and started reading I could not find my bookmark in the book so i started reading where I thought i had left off but I come to find out that that is not where i had stopped so anyways if this is messed up i wil fix it by tomorrow.
Okayy, so then she meets this other young girl who is like I don’t know maybe 5 or 6 or something like that, and she said that she could do a magic trick, wait no she said that she was a magician like Henery the Great but then she tells stargirl to close her eyes and she does. Then she tells stargirl to open her eyes and when she does she can only hear the girl’s voice which freaks her out. But when her rat Cinamon runs out then the girl reveals herself and lets’ the rat lick all over her face!!! (GROSS!!!!)
P.S.- I really wrote for like 20 minutes beceause i set my ipod to go off when it was time to stop writing and i set it for 10 minutes but then i set it to 5 minutes and now i just reset it for 5 minutes like 4 minutes ago so round that up and that is like 20 min. To make up for last night. SORRY MR. MAFEILD!!!! 🙂

I think the author’s purpose was to explain how the girl was feeling about making a weapon, since she was a woman and it’s against her tribe. She decided to make some since the wild dogs were deadly.After she made them she was trapped up on a rock surrounded by wild dogs.

This week I’m blogging about The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. It is by Brian Jaques, the author of the Redwall series. Anywho, I know that he wrote this to entertain the reader. I pretty sure anyways. I think he wrote this to entertain, but he used facts about the countries and myths of the Flying Dutchman to an advantage, because he twists it to a new point of view of a never-before-heard-of-character. At the same time though he creates the image a huge ship where the boy is put in the galley.

Wondering what would have happened if Neb (the boy in Castaways of the Flying Dutchman) would have escaped in Denmark?
My guess is that he would have found the black lab and went to a bench and hid until the pirates were gone. Then he would have made a home and been one of those beggars who sits on the corner of the block in New York. Or maybeif he didn’t like the dog anymore … sell the poor black lab. I mean that’s what I would have to do if I were him, but I’m not so that is all his discision. That is what I think would have happened to Neb if he escaped the ship in Denmark.

After a lot of thought The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman is like the beginning of Peter and the Starcatchers. They both have characters get on ships. Neb got on because he was running from his stepbrothers and one of them hit him and he fell into the ice cold water, then all of a sudden a stringy rope hits his head and he uses all his strength to climb onboard. In the other book orphans get onboard because the are forced to be slaves to an evil king overseas. Well, I mean, they have \the same ideas just different plots.

So far the captain of the Flying Dutchmanis making a deal with a chinease merchant who is offering FOUR emeralds for him to deliver emeralds to other high-payng people. On another POV a boy is running from his stepbrothers and runs into a dead-end. His stepbrothers or the ocean?!?!?!?!?!? Which is worse?!?!?!? Well, he doesn’t have a choice because one of his stepbrothers cuffs (hits) him in the jaw and falls into the freezing cold ocean shivering and alone.

I leaped a the dragon, hoping that it wouldn’t turn in time. I was wrong, he saw me! I came down, interuppting the great move in which i was about to perform… uh-oh, He’s getting ready for a fire attack! Gyaaaggghhhh! I let out a desperate scream, only to be thankful for my comrades, in which the shot down the dragon. It fell to the gorund,” Take off his head! Remember in training!” We all lept toward the neck, hitting, hacking, slashing even tearing it off of the body, but that’s when it went wrong, the dragon let out a finally attack, in which he makes himself explode. He exploded with a fury of no other, and thats when the screen blacked out.
Hey!!! Me again. I have only blogged for 10 minutes so far this week-2 blogs- so I am going to write for 10 MORE minutes tonight. Okay, here it goes.
Thursday-in case you didn’t know that-
Alright, so I think that I left off with Lucy getting her computer taken away. Well her parents grounded her and she told this guy-yes, she actually calls him guy-that she couldn’t go get coffee with him because she was grounded. But guess what, she went anyway after she told her parents that she was going to sleep. Well once Lucy saw guy-real name is Dylan-at the coffee shop, they start to talk when this other dude that Dylan knows-guy- comes up and say that there is a party. And I don’t think you will ever guess what they did. They went to the party! How crazy is that? That’s all I have read for now but I will continue to read tonight and tomorrow. Talk to you later!! Thursday- OMG!!! The football team lost! I blame it all on J.T., I knew he shouldnt be on the team!

Pov of sword- Ahh, finally, some time to cool off, i have been worked on and worked on until i can’t be worked on any more! I wish the black smith would work on Axe over there, he thinks he’s al big and bad, i mean, what if his master misses? Theres no protection on the axe so it would just stab him, as opposed to me, in which i have an excellent pommel that allows me to- Oh No! NOT THE DUNK!!! NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO
Ok, I’m so tired. I just got back from john carrol and we beat john carrol 8-0. I’m so tired, yet happy. Looks like football is off to a good stat for the CMS wildcats! Ok, I left off with Hunger Games and Katniss and Peeta are on the train getting ready to go to the Capitol to start the Hunger Games. Haymitch, the drunken survivor oof the Hnger Games, is there coach and will be training them until they get to the arena. The train started and they went on to the luxurious train cabin with a nice bathroom for all of them and comfy beds. Effie calls them for dinner and everybody besides haymitch shows up to the glorious feast. While they eat Haymitch walks in and throws up all oer the floor and passes out from drunkness in it. They pick him up and take him to there bathroom and Peeta volunteers to clean him so Katniss leaves.
I finished The Maze Runner and here is a short summary. Thomas arrives in the Glade having no memory of who he was or his life prior to waking up in an elevator (The Box) while on the way up to the Glade. He finds out the Glade is the center of a maze which seems to have no exit, and which is full of creature/robots known as “Grievers”. The day after he arrives, the first and only girl ever sent to the Glade arrives with a message that she is the last one to be sent and that the end is near. She then goes into a coma. Thomas must try to figure out why she looks familiar and if there is a way out of the maze before everything completely falls apart in the Glade…They eventually have one final battle with the grievers, and find an exit. However at the end when they are all safe, you realize this book is just one of the many tests they will go through to find the best people so they can find a cure to a disease called The Flare. No the kid found me why does he have to run around being so nosy. How can I get him away without letting him see who i am? No dont look in there Too late the cottonmouths start sliding down his legs as i look in horror at what is going on in front of me The boy starts screaming I quickly look down at the bag that the snakes were in and grab it and put it over the boys head I then say ” Back Away Real slow’ then the boy says to me “who are you” I then respond on the count of three move back here towards me ” 1 2 ”
” Wait i dont think i can do this”
“3” The boy stands still I grab him from behind and pull him back to me i tie up his hands and tell him to go away and not look back he leaves and I hope that he didn’t see who i was.
OK well that was hard to write Maybe i will get better at that
I am going to go and eat food now haha those of you who know me should know that i love food so Wish me luck on my quest to find food

Well I am going to do a summary beceause the character’s did not change her point of view I don’t know the author’s purpose for writing the short passage that i read for min.. Plus i can’t compare to anything that i have read wait a second yes I can!!!! Okayy so now I am comparing what I read to Twilight.:)
Okayy so this how i can compare Love, to Twilight beceause in Love, Stargirl likes a guy and she moved and is scared to find out if he still likes her. In Twilight Bella notices Edward and begins to like him but for a while she is scared to say anything to him.
And beceause my summary is short i am going to compare and contrast Love, to The Twilight Saga. Alikes: Both about girls that like boys and are scared to speak up, both are sagas,sort of, and they both find the guys they like at their school. Diffrences: Bella’s guy is a vampire and that she likes 2 guys and stargirl’s guy is completely human and stargirl is way younger than Bella I think.

I just finished reading “Loose Team Loose” well not really i finished it
Saturday. So i am going to compare how he is alike and not alike to me and authors purpose. he is alike me because i love football. I also think of plans that work and some that don’t. Such like using that one girl on there football team because she is huge and nasty. That was a very good idea because they won some games. It became a bad idea because they might have to go to the championship. The authors purpose was to entertain. I was very entertained by this book. He wrote it for comedy to. This was a very good book and i am done going to bed.
Also you should Read this book called “Bud not Buddy”. Its realy good and i liked it

I’m still reading ‘The island of the BlueDolphins’, and I’m going to write about POV change.
If the POV changed to the dog she had healed, then it might have been like this:
“Owwwww! I have a spear in my side, oh thankyou, you got it out. I’m in stil in much pain though! How long is this gonig to go on? Owwwwww! Ooo fish.”
We also would not have known what the girl did. And wouldn’t have as much information.

The authors purpose tonight was to show that the girl is very smart, and strong. She is also very skillled.

Hey Mr. Mayfeild,
I am reading a nonfiction book called CADES COVE: the life and death of a southern Appalachian Community 1818-1937.
Well i don’t really know what to do on this nonfiction book so I am going to do author’s purpose.
Okayy so what I read was stating that John Oliver lived in the cove and was one of the main people who are remembered. Also that certin people only moved to the cove beceause the Civil War was happening and that they moved there beceause if they lived in other places the souther war people would steel their cattle and their crops and raid their houses and other stuff like that. I also read how that the only reason that a lot of people liked the cove was beceause it was like a virtual island set off in the Great Smoky Mountains, and that the National Park group only kept the cabins that had the “pioneer” style.
So now I will do why I think the author wrote this and I think that is beceause he wanted to inform the people of what life was like back then and that it wasn’t just like a game and all you had to do was farm,breed,work, and sleep. That wasn’t like that. He pprobsly also wanted the readers to know that you think you have it hard now well back in the ninteenth century they had it harder!!!:) Well that is all i have got for today but i have to do to blogs in one day beceause when i get home tomorrow it wont be untill like 9:00 so….

Today (well actually supposed to be tomorrow) I read the same book!! And I am going to do is compare to something I have read and i am going to do that by comparing and contrasting.!.
Okayy so i am going to compare Cades Cove to Freak The Mighty. Alikes: They are alike beceause in both books the people or peolples had to struggle and had hardships they had to learn to deal with and both got past it. Another way they are alike is that they both contain people learning something new everyday and that thing that they learned just makes thim stronger in the long run. Disalikes: They are diffrent beceause one contains history and the other contains nowadays info. One more way that they are diffrent is that in Freak The Mighty the world that they live in is updated and has more stuff and better houses and in Cades Cove they really nothing..

I am reading a book called “SWITCH”. I have not read any other book like these so i am going to do a summery/ authors purpose.
Its about a these kids named Ken Corbin half brother, Leo went to a science fiction movie. The boy thinks he might have epilepsy because the movie had just started closing in and Mr. Iverson looked like he was 1000 miles away and he felt like he was grabed by the chest and the demons were getting him/ The authors purpose was to make a mystery about the book. The kid being epilepsy could be a mystery.

Im still reading, ‘The Island of the Blue Dolphins’, and Im going to compare it to another book I’ve read.
I’m going to compare ‘The Island of the Blue Dolphins’ & ‘Rules’.Well first, in ‘The Island of the Blue Dolphins’ a girl is stranded on an island. Also she is building a home and making weapons. In ‘Rules’, the girl is making “rules” for her brother, who is autistic.
They both have brothers, but one girl’s brother was killed. The girl on the island is abit older than the other, and the girl on the island has to fend for her self.

I know I already blogged but I didn’t yesterday, so I’m going to do a summary.
Basicly the girl made a small canoe, and spring has come. The Aluet’s dog was living with her but wanted to leave one day, so she let him out. Later that day she heard the sound o dogs fighting Rontue (the Aluet’s dog) was fighting 2 other dogs. He won.
They went back to the house and the girl caght some birds to be her friends in the winter along with Rontue.
